An Excellent Podcast for a Criminally Underrated Show
There is no show I consider more formative than Everwood. Despite it being criminally underrated, it holds up 20 years later. How refreshing it has been to find fellow fans who actually appreciate this show for everything it has to offer. This is absolutely worth the listen if you are an old or new fan of Everwood. The podcast is in depth, applies a fair modern lenses to the viewing experience, and calls out subtleties that I’ve never caught in all my many rewatches.
Fairly decent
I was excited to find this podcast as I've been a big Everwood fan since it originally aired when I was in high school. The only other everwood rewatch cast I've found was complete trash. This one is pretty good. The two hosts do complain about some odd things, and the whining over the "patriarchy" quite often is obnoxious. But overall they're pretty likeable and I'm enjoying listening.
Edit: I take back everything I said previously about this podcast. The first Everwood season wasn't bad, but once I began season 2, each episode has gotten worse and worse. Everything in the show is either "white savior", mysoginistic, sexist, ableist, racist, etc. The hosts find the absolutely oddest things problematic (Madison had the audacity to tell Amy she used to have her jacket. They found this to be super strange for some reason. Huh?! They feel guilty for laughing at Bright using words incorrectly . Why?! It's supposed to be funny. Just bizarre) If you enjoy listening to two raging feminists/social justice warriors rag on every detail of a show with an ultra woke, post 2020 lens, then you'll love it. Kate & Melissa both get so worked up over certain storylines, you know it's just a tv show, right? It's written for the drama and entertainment. It must be exhausting to constantly be offended by every little thing. Idk why they even bother watching and podcasting the show because they seem to hate watching it.
It’s “Fine”
Kate “it’s fine” and Melissa “ha-ha-ha” are otherwise great hosts and I enjoy the pod.
