How We Import and Distribute Our Wine
A quick and fun look at how we find our natural wine producers, set up our company, found our wonderful partners and get the wine from the vineyard to your door!
Beaujolais and David Large Natural Wines
Have you ever been to the Beaujolais region of France, just south of Burgundy? How about Tuscany? If you dropped yourself off in the middle of the former, you just might think you’re in the latter. Beautiful farmland, wildlife, vines pockmark the rolling hills of the Beaujolais. Nestled into the southernmost part of the Cru region is where we found our latest producer, David Large.
Is Cider Wine? A look at Wine vs Cider
Simply put, Cider is “an alcoholic beverage made from fermented juice of apples.” Meanwhile, wine is “an alcoholic beverage made from fermented juice of grapes.”
Okay, so we all knew that. But, what is the difference between an alcoholic beverage made of apples, and an alcoholic beverage made of grapes? This podcast takes a look at the differences and similarities of cider and wine as well as talks about some that we love!

Welcome Domaine de l'Envol - Alsace, France
A few weeks ago we ventured up to Alsace to meet a producer that we were confident was a great fit for our portfolio! We’ve been wanting to add another mainly white wine producing area for awhile and with Nic’s Riesling obsession, it seemed like a perfect fit!
Arriving in mid-October, the leaves were turning, but harvest was still ongoing for many of the winemakers! As we passed the rolling hills you could see the tractors going up and down with crates and bringing back all the juicy goodness back to the wineries.
First, I’d like to talk a bit about Alsace, then Domaine de l’Envol specifically, and finally the wines we are bringing in from them.
What Does Natural Wine Taste Like?
If you haven't tried natural wine before, you “naturally” (get it?) might wonder what it tastes like! After all, there’s a lot of stories about there about it tasting like cider, dirt, vinegar, and worse. However, just like all wines, some can be well-made and delicious, and others can be terrible!
So, what does natural wine taste like? The quick and easy answer is that natural wine can taste like anything from traditional grape expressions, where you don’t even know it was made naturally, to a bit more wild. This is usually where the word funk or funky is used and we’re going to work to be specific about funk throughout this article so that you can know what it is your tasting and whether you like it or not!
Orange Wine vs Rose Podcast
As the weather warms up people are starting to pop bottles of chilled rosé and enjoy the sunshine. Rosé has been a mainstay of spring/summer in the United States for years, and it’s definitely here to stay. But what about its cousin, the lesser-known style of wine known affectionately (or not depending on who is saying it) as orange wine? In this article we’ll delve deep into orange wine vs rosé, and hopefully help dispel any myths about it.
