    In my most recent podcast episode, I explore why Christians really celebrate Christmas—and I challenge the version of the story most of us have grown up accepting. I share my personal perspective and what I believe the Holy Spirit has revealed to me about the origins of many Christmas traditions we now treat as sacred or harmless. I wrestle with the question of whether Christmas, as it’s currently practiced, is truly about celebrating the birth of Jesus—or whether it has slowly become something else entirely. I examine how cultural traditions, consumerism, and constant messaging have reshaped the holiday, and I ask whether what we celebrate today aligns with what we think we’re celebrating. I also touch on a more uncomfortable idea: whether modern Christmas functions as a kind of mass indoctrination, subtly conditioning us—through technology, algorithms, and economic pressure—to spend, consume, and conform, rather than reflect, worship, and discern. Is this merely coincidence, or is there a system at work that benefits from distraction and excess?
