Myles 5 ever!
As a 14 year old who has shaped my entire self with the goal of being as much like Kel as possible I can say that finding these lovely ladies who also loved these characters is one of the best podcast things to ever happen to me!
Intelligent conversation about my childhood favs
Oh, you mean there are other adults who reread Tamora Pierce books and their adult personalities were shaped by them?!!!! I love the internet.
Everything I never knew I needed
Why did I never think to look for a Tamora Pierce podcast? I’ve spent the entire day listening to one episode after another, each of which are insightful and utterly delightful. Joan and Rebecca have great chemistry as friends, which is evident in their hilarious back and forth. (I’ve never laughed out loud so many times at a podcast!)
I feel validated that these two want to have the same discussions about Tortall novels that I do, about both positive and negative aspects of the books and society. It nourishes my literal soul to get to yell right along with the hosts about how meaningful, powerful and moving these novels are.
Here’s a fun aside: we must all pronounce characters’ names in our head very differently, because I have some totally different interpretations of them!!
