Total Brewing Total Brewing

After experimenting and trying out a wide variety of brews the last couple years Ive been curious about the deeper side of beer and brewing, this podcast hits all the right spots. I actually work at the same place as Tyler (oddly not a brewery) and got to talking about beer and he told me about the podcast, 4 episodes deep and im hooked. Very informative and not the least bit pretentious. Both hosts complement each other nicely and the dichotomy between the very experienced vs. educated brewer is interesting and is cool hearing them learn as we all listen. As a heavy listener of podcasts this has made its way to the top of my priority list. Hopefully I can get around to finally making a brew of my own.

These guys talk about everything related to beer. They sample different beers (commercial & home brew), talk about various techniques for home brewing (smaller & larger systems), and have some great guests. The early episodes had a lot of variations in microphone levels and the music during the breaks was way too loud, but the past few episodes have been great. The production level has drastically increased over the past year. The latest mashing episode was one of their best both from a production stand point and content when it comes to brewing beer. A lot of their guests that they have are from the western part of Michigan which is great for me since I love to vacation there. It is a nice breakup from the typical West Coast podcast in which I have little connection to those breweries. Currently, Total Brewing is my favorite podcast.

These guys do a really good job of going into detail of the different aspects of homebrewing. They talk a lot about brewing on a small scale up to larger systems. Excellent podcast and lots of good information!
