Great interview with coach Kearns!

Just wanted to take a moment thank you guys for the outstanding work your doing and the voices your bringing to the table to speak upon it! The fight to end the stigma of people struggling with mental health issues is real, and you couldn’t have found someone who is more relentlessly passionate on the subject who’s been in that fight than coach Kearns. I found my self working with coach Kearns about 8-9 months ago, I heard him speaking on the radio during mental health awareness month and had myself been searching for some answers about my own mental health and overall wellness. Next month will be 4yrs I have been sober and while I was both proud and comfortable in my recovery life doesn’t stop throwing you obstacles and curveballs. I had been recently separated staying with a friend, depressed and had always been a bit overweight. As soon as the interview was over I left coach a message on his website about my situation and received a call back in 10 mins from coach Kearns himself. We spoke for 30 mins and i immediately could tell he genuinely cared about what I had to say. Genuine actually would be a great one word description of who he is and what he offers. Never going to try and sell you something or have you do anything that he himself hasn’t done or thinks is garbage. I had a one on one consultation next and he actually went to the market with me to give me some ideas for better nutrition when the consultation was over. I’ve found out quickly that the 3 pillars he speaks of go hand and hand with being in addiction recovery and now try and help others in my recovery meeting with that information. I also quickly caught on to his unique fitness program which I was amazed by because the idea of working out and going about it correctly never interested me in the past. We are outside as much as possible and he tied in Mui Thai boxing at the end of each session and I fell in love with the process, have lost 38lbs and am so much more aware and focused of the benefits it all has on my mental health. It didn’t take long before I was not only calling him coach but i calling him a friend. Next to sobriety introducing myself to burn with Kearns is one of the best investments I’ve made in myself. I absolutely know the passion he brings to the table when fighting for good me health and against the stigma that holds so many back from getting the proper help available. Thank you again for the work you do and I look forward to continue checking in with your podcast!
