Like many others, I learned about this from Matt Gourley while checking his Twitter for news on the James Bonding podcast. I had a few long road trips ahead of me (thanks, COVID19) and downloaded all the episodes. I just finished their trek through the non-Craig films, and feel comfortable enough with my feelings about the podcast to write a review.
I love the way these guys come at the Bond films. Their own moviemaking experience really adds to the discussion, and has led me to rewatch some Bond films with a new view (to a kill). It’s also nice to hear some new tales on the series (very critical of Goldfinger, and laudatory of A View to a Kill, both of which sound like heresy).
I particularly enjoy the fact check segments, and the fact that two members of the podcast haven’t seen most of the films, which lends to the fresh perspective they bring to the analysis of Bond films.
Highly recommended!
