    India's Exports Losing Ground Amid Global Trade Shifts II Tracking Trends W/ Rajesh Mahapatra

    Ever since US President #DonaldTrump triggered the tariff war, much of our attention has been focussed on India's trouble with its biggest trading partner -- the United States. What has been missed, however, is that India's exports to its other trading destinations have suffered too. In the first five months of this fiscal, April-August, exports to 10 out of the top 20 trading destinations have contracted year on year. If this trend continues, and with the impact of the 50% tariff on exports to the US taking effect from August 27, India's exports will be hit hard. Chances are FY2025-26 may witness a contraction in India's exports, with serious consequences for growth, employment and its currency.     RBI's rate cuts a pleasant surprise; abrupt policy shift stoke new concerns

While the rate cut was cheered by industry and consumers, the push for liquidity and the about turn on policy stance have stoked new concern.
