Special Episode: Panel Discussion on PNW Myths and Magic

The Pacific Northwest has been in the national media a lot the last few months, and a lot of what was said was not favorable (or accurate). For those that live here it can be written off with a bit of humor, but for those who depend on travelers to the region, it is just one more challenge to an already challenging year. Trails to the Border co-host, Dan Moore, is a guest on a panel discussion led by Tad Bradley of the Kusini Collection. Also on the panel is Kieron Weidner and Elena Vizzini from First Nature Tours. Originally recorded September 30, 2020.

Happy New Year from Trails to the Border!

We close out 2019 and our final episode of Season 3 with an interview we conducted back in May with sustainability expert and business consultant Kevin Wilhelm. Kevin is the CEO of Sustainable Business Consulting based in Seattle, Washington. Kevin shares with the Pod advice he has learned through his 25 years experience as an entrepreneur and organizational leader.

Due to various challenges, it has taken a while to get this episode edited and now finally published. Thank you for your patience! This interview is packed with advice and ideas and is worth the delay. Knowing it has been a while and it is the end of the season, this podcast is about twice as long as our others. Please enjoy.

S3E2 - The entrepreneur's entrepreneur: Douglas Quinby, cofounder of the Arival Event

S3E2 - The entrepreneur's entrepreneur: Douglas Quinby, cofounder of the Arival Event

It has been a couple months since we posted a podcast, AND we had a ton of content from our special guest this episode, so in honor of our one year anniversary we are posting a double episode. You get the usual check-in between James and Dan, and then the rest of the hour is jam packed with incredible wisdom and insight from researcher and entrepreneur Douglas Quinby.

Douglas is the cofounder and CEO of the Arival event. Arival is an event focussed on the tours activities and attractions sector of the travel industry. As their website says:

"Tours, Activities & Attractions is travel’s third largest sector, the fastest growing, and the reason people travel in the first place. It is also going through incredible change. Alex Kremer, Douglas Quinby, and Bruce Rosard founded Arival in 2017 to build an independent conference and insights for creators and sellers of Tours, Activities & Attractions."

Trails to the Border is a podcast dedicated to the challenges and successes of entrepreneurs, and has a special focus on the travel industry. There is plenty of universal advice throughout this podcast, but this episode will especially be valuable for the professional in the travel industry.

She has run Aski Holistic Adventures (https://www.askiholisticadventures.com) for only 12 months, but already won several awards and is getting lots of attention. We will learn what inspired her to start her business and some valuable wisdom she has picked up in a short amount of time.
