EP41. Emily Hu: I Became a Multi World Record Holder in Powerlifting in My 30s

Do what makes you happy, and not what your parents want. This is the advice Emily would give to her younger self. Emily was looking for a new hobby after she turned 30. She was having a quarter life crisis moment. Despite having no prior experience in strength training, Emily became a multi-record holder in powerlifting and made her appearance on NBC's  "The Titan Games", hosted by Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. She's best known for her bench press and continues to push boundaries across multiple weight classes. Emily joins Aaron to talk about her transformation journey, health, diet, exercise and much more. Enjoy.

New Book Announcement: Unstuck - Think Like a Kid and Free Your Mind

New Book Announcement: Unstuck - Think Like a Kid and Free Your Mind

I am excited to share with you that my first self-improvement book Unstuck - Think Like a Kid and Free Your Mind is now available on Amazon. I have poured my heart and soul into writing this book for the past year. With two young kids, a full-time job; it hasn't been easy and I am really happy with what we produced. Thank you to every one of YOU who has been part of my publishing journey.

A few years ago, I got stuck because of a life-triggered event. I was lost, unmotivated, I didn't know what my purpose for life was. That made me anxious, I thought something was wrong with me. I started reflecting more whenever I experience negative emotions, asking more questions to confront my self-limiting beliefs, trying things that are out of my comfort zone such as this podcast. Little by little, things started to change. In this book, I share my journey of finding clarity in times of uncertainty, through my own struggles and the stories of many others.

I hope you'll enjoy it, I can't wait to hear your thoughts about the book. Please help spread the word to the community to help more people in need. I'll announce a social media campaign shortly.

EP39. Sylvia Friedman: "I Investigated Brothels and Notorious Red Light Districts in Asia."

Want to live a remarkable life? A life with no regrets? When we are young, we think we are invincible, we do perilous things. This chat is about how Sylvia turned herself from a Reporter, to an Award-Winning Filmmaker, Author and Philanthropist. She visited some of the most dangerous brothels in Asia. She encountered thugs and pimps during her investigations for sex trafficking and slavery. Some of her stories are going to keep you on the edge of your seat.

Sylvia Yu Friedman is an award-winning filmmaker, Penguin author, TV host, serial entrepreneur, and philanthropy consultant. She is the author of three books, A Long Road to Justice: Stories from the Frontlines in Asia (Penguin Random House, September 2021); Silenced No More: Voices of Comfort Women, the only journalistic account of historical Japanese military sex slavery during WWII, and Heart and Soul: The Life Story of Pastor Augustus Chao.

    Forgive your younger self.
    Trust your current self.
    Create your better self.
