Interesting

The stories of survivors are interesting and really eye opening. I would have liked to hear some stories from parents and how the family worked out the trauma after the child came home.

Close to home

I was in a RTC in Utah for almost two years in the late 80s, including some time living off site in “foster” family homes. I still have occasional nightmares. I believe the place I was sent to was considered one of the more reputable ones, yet terrible things happened there, and it still blighted my life. When you spend those critical transitional years in a place that allows you to make no decisions, and allows no expressions of individuality, you come to feel helpless and worthless on a very deep level.

Shut them down. Enough already.
