    Rehearsing Truth Music Camp

Summer is the time for leisure activities like various sport camps, dance camps, and VBS camps in our communities. Putting our kids in these pursuits can honor God. But how often do we encourage our children to grow in their love for something God has explicitly commanded His people to do? If God commands us to sing praise to Him, then built into that command is the expectation that we learn how to sing and understand the music that accompanies our singing. Music literacy was born in the church, and it is time for it to return to the church. The Rehearsing Truth Music Camp gives kids ages 5–18 the opportunity to gain experience in singing, music theory, folk dancing, and even enjoy fun outdoor games and activities. Our staff includes five trained music teachers, supported by parent volunteers, all working together to prepare our young men and women to become leaders of music in a culture that often treats music merely as entertainment or background noise. Join Pastors Hacker and Best, along with special guests Elijah Grajkowski and Rachel Deutsch, as they explore the topic of singing and music on this episode of TreasureCast. After you watch or listen, we would love to hear your thoughts. Email us at treasurecast@woodridge.cc with questions, feedback, or suggestions for future episodes. Ask the Pastors: Staying Baptist, Good Books, the Sabbath, Kids & Crushes

We’re back with another episode of Ask the Pastors, where we unpack the questions you’ve emailed to us. In this episode, we explore the implications of the following: Woodridge members and pastors have been shaped by a variety of paedobaptists (e.g., Calvin, Luther, Sproul, Ryle). What has kept you a Baptist? Besides the Bible, what is one book you would recommend for every church member or attendee—and why? In what ways is the commandment to remember the Sabbath applicable to Christians? What do you think about Christian kids having crushes? Join Pastors Erdman, Jantz, Best, and Hacker as they dig into these questions on this episode of the TreasureCast. After you watch or listen, we’d love to hear your thoughts—email us at treasurecast@woodridge.cc with questions, feedback, or suggestions for future episodes. Technology & AI

** Stick around to the end of this episode for a special TreasureCast treat** Technology is inescapable. Some of it is helpful and easy to understand; other parts are complex or even dangerous. But in today’s culture, there’s simply no avoiding it. It surrounds us and is woven into nearly everything we do. We live in an age of rapidly advancing tools, and the newest pinnacle of that innovation is something called artificial intelligence (AI). Because Scripture doesn’t speak directly to AI, Christians are left asking an important question: How do we treasure Christ in a world that increasingly treasures technology? Are these tools neutral? Should believers begin using them regularly? Join Pastors Luke, Matt J., Derek, and Drew as they explore these questions on this episode of the TreasureCast. After you watch or listen, we’d love to hear your thoughts–Email us at treasurecast@woodridge.cc with questions, feedback, or suggestions for future episodes. Contentment & the Life of Faith

The word contentment gets used frequently in today’s culture, but its meaning often shifts depending on who’s discussing it. So, what exactly is contentment? How does it connect to faith and trust? Should Christians seek contentment outside ourselves, or is the popular self-love movement the answer? Understanding contentment rightly as Christians is incredibly counter cultural and helps us take pleasure in God as we treasure Christ above all. Join Pastors John and Drew as they explore these questions and welcome a special guest who recently co-taught a class on contentment at Woodridge. Ask the Pastors (Gambling, Fasting & Liturgical Feast Days)

You’ve probably heard us talk about emailing questions on almost every episode, right? Well, based on popular demand–you asked questions, and we answered them! Join Pastors John, Drew, Matt E., and Rich as they discuss questions submitted over the course of the TreasureCast in this new “Ask the Pastors” style podcast. The questions that are addressed in this episode include: -         Should Christians fast, and if so, how should we do it? -         What is gambling? Is it sinful for Christians to gamble or place bets? Are all forms of gambling the same across card games, sports games, or fantasy football leagues? -         At Woodridge, we celebrate three of the five evangelical feast days. Why don’t we celebrate Ascension and Pentecost? Join us in this discussion as we take these questions head-on, see what scripture says, and go down some fun glory trails in the process! We’d love to hear your thoughts–Email us at treasurecast@woodridge.cc with questions, feedback or suggestions for future episodes. Preventing Roots of Bitterness

Have you seen a tree get blown over and uprooted –or even removed by a large machine? This feat requires immense force, because it has roots that act like anchors, reaching deep into the soil. Roots are good in their ability to anchor and provide nourishment. But there is another kind of root that can anchor itself and provide unhealthy nourishment to our souls; the root of bitterness. If left to grow, this bitter root can cause sin to cascade and escalate in our lives. It can destroy the church, our relationships, and negatively impact our ability to treasure Christ above all. In this episode of the TreasureCast, Pastors Derek, Matt, John and Drew discuss the topic “Preventing Roots of Bitterness.” They discuss the damage that bitterness causes and the other sins it can lead to. But for the Christian, there is hope –they also lead us to the remedy that exists in God’s Word so we can starve and uproot these roots of bitterness in our lives. We’d love to hear your thoughts. Email us at treasurecast@woodridge.cc with feedback or suggestions for future episodes. Producer: Pastor Drew Hacker Hosts: Pastors Matt Jantz, Derek Best, Drew Hacker, John Pfannerstill Theme Song: “Mercy” used with copyright permission from artist. Graphics Design: Patrick Blend Video and Audio: Nate Schwalm Here are the resources referenced during the show. Please note that mentioning a resource, author or ministry does not imply it perfectly aligns with the doctrine of our church. However, the resource is valued for the specific insights it provides on the topic discussed. -         The Holy Bible (ESV translation) Go and treasure Christ above all!
