Such great symbiosis! Great ideas for life even outside of property management. One note: That the 24 year old Uber driver (or was it Lyft??) had his life planned all the way to his retirement was so refreshing to me to hear. The “pension” that you mentioned is 40 plus years away; in between is a life of hard work and service. Juxtapose this with my recent Lyft driver conversation with another Gen Z’er— her life is about not getting old and retiring without having traveled extensively and living to the fullest. This meant working in spurts to save enough for the next Groupon vacation, no college or further education yet, no home or permanency, and living for the moment. “I do not want to work my life away and be old before I travel,” said she. I commend her but hope she does not underestimate the richness of a baby boomers’ life or mindset.
