Julian's career took him from a graduate sales role at Bass Brewers in the English Midlands to regional director for Britvic International by age 26, through leadership roles at SAB Miller across South Africa and Latin America, and into his current role at Google. Along the way he built brand strategy under a former Coca-Cola global CMO, launched and lost a premium soft drink in Poland, and helped shape how one of the world's largest companies thinks about marketing in the developing world. In 2001, Bethany was the first journalist to publicly question Enron's valuation, publishing "Is Enron Overpriced?" in Fortune months before the company's implosion became one of the most notorious corporate bankruptcies in American history. She went on to cover the 2008 financial crisis, co-authoring the book "All the Devils Are Here" with Joe Nocera.
