    011: On Moving Forward with The Bachelor, Gun Control, Racist Real Estate, & #TeamErica

    On this episode of Try Saying That Out Loud, Jamie & Lo have one final debrief of Matt James’ season of The Bachelor and discuss how not excited they are for Katie’s season of The Bachelorette. Then, the tone shifts as the ladies talk about gun control in the wake of the supermarket shooting in Boulder, as well as the shooting in Georgia that targeted Asian-American women (0:20). In the span of a week, 18 American lives were lost. They try to make sense of arguments against banning assault-style weapons but literally just… cannot. This episode’s Try Saying That moment is brought to you by, for the first time, A REAL LIFE LISTENER, but hits close to home for both Jamie & Lo (0:35). Real estate, education and, you guessed it: racism. They discuss ways to combat living in disproportionately white neighborhoods and the importance of diversity in raising the next generation.     010: On Royal Haters, Exploiting Matt James, Social Media Battles, Energy Eats, & Emotional Cheating

    On this episode of Try Saying That Out Loud, Jamie and Lo white girl “cannot” with the royal haters OR the producers of the Bachelor that so blatantly exploited Matt James for their own benefit (00:16). Then, the conversation takes a vulnerable turn as Lo introduces her /Try Saying That/ moment, which speaks to the toxicity that can be social media, especially as it concerns performative allyship, “mean girls,” and cancel culture (00:22). It was a terrifying conversation to have but as Jamie so aptly reminded her, getting uncomfortable is what they are here to do. On the plus side: maybe this conversation will be the one that causes people to finally email them, for better or for worse. Then, Lo talks even more for this episodes’ “Lo, I wanna know…” — this time answering a listener question about how to manage energy levels from a nutritional standpoint (00:47).  Afterward, Jamie does her deep dive on Enneagram 4 (00:56).
