One or Many: What non-duality can do for the West

What is the distinction between mind and body? Us and nature? Goth style and dressing like Pink-a-licious? The spectrum that difference exists on, is it really a straight line? Or, could it perhaps, be a circle? In this episode, I dive into  The philosophical pioneer of dualism in the West + how his ideas continue to influence us What non-duality is and how it shows up in Indian and East Asian thought  Evidence of non-dualistic energy transfers in day-to-day phenomena What non-dual thought conceptions provide us on a spiritual, personal, and relational level  There is a reason we feel better after petting a dog, going in the ocean, or hugging our best friends. There is a reason we start to notice every instance of others having what we lack. There is a reason that we can never settle the nature/nurture, mind/body, or good/evil debate. The reason — our so-called spectrum of difference connects, and we are simply beads sliding along its chain. Once we realize this, it becomes a lovely circle to slide around.  Substack Piece - Non-duality: loving sparkles and Chief Keef Let’s connect! Impermanence: How to deal with change

CHANGE IS HARD! But at the end of the day, it’s our nature to do so.  So, how can we find a conception of impermanence rooted in its beauty, flow, and cyclical form? And why does doing so open up our hearts, arms, and minds? In this episode, I dive into  The view of change and permanence in the West + 5 ways it hinders our day to day lives - Linear change, looking for permanence, fear + disappointment  The views of change and permanence in Buddhist, Daoist, and Yogic thought + how they can be integrated into your own life - Three marks of conditioned existence, dependent arising, yin + yang, the kleshas and yamas Easy ways to practice the skill of ‘change,’ why you should do it + what it means to do so  - 4 practices you can do today, new senses of love, gratitude, and presence  My Piece on Impermanence My Piece on the culture of living from a place of abundance Yamas and Niyamas: Exploring Yoga’s Ethical Practice by Deborah Adele  Buddhist Three Marks of Conditioned Existence and Dependent Arising     Let’s connect! What are we missing? The forgotten landscape of philosophy and spirituality

What sorts of things do we turn to in order to better our lives? What would happen if instead of turning out to external measures, we tried tuning in? What if what we needed already existed within ourselves, and betterment was simply a rediscovery, opposed to a creating? This is what we’re missing.  In this episode, I dive into  The philosophical bases of Western secular thought & and how they shape our relationships to our bodies, nature, and materiality  The philosophical bases of Eastern thought & and how they promote a more connective and relational worldly experience  The difference between religion and spirituality + the gap in self-help that stems from an absence of spiritual exploration   This episode is an invitation. It’s a seed. A message from my heart to yours that there might just be more out there than you’ve always thought.
