Tuning In Episode 107: The X-Files: The Unnatural/Three of a Kind

David Duchovny writes and directs his first episode of the show, and “The Unnatural” brings us maybe the strongest disagreement yet. Then in “Three of a Kind”, the Lone Gunmen try to rescue someone.

Tuning In Episode 103: The X-Files: Two Fathers/One Son

Tuning In Episode 103: The X-Files: Two Fathers/One Son

Somewhat bizarrely, The X-Files has decided to end the mythology storyline in the middle of the sixth season. The two-parter “Two Fathers” and “One Son” is somewhat successful but still leaves us wanting an actual explanation.

Great great great show!!

Sorry guys, I forgot to write you a review until after my wife Stephanie posted hers. You were absolutely right to publicly shame me.... Anyway, onto the review! Eric and Richard are so great I could listen to them talk about paint drying! Everyone even remotely interested in The X-Files, or Trek, or Firefly, etc should give them a listen, you won’t regret it. Keep up the great work guys and thanks for your great shows!

Great Stuff

The Trekabout guys keep making more podcasts and it's a good thing that they do this. In an age of recappers they do real criticism: focused, analytical, with a clear point of view and real argumentation. But more importantly, they make it interesting: the interplay between hosts is strong, with involving exchanges and deployment of humor. They alway try to appreciate rather than excoriate and to understand why something works (or doesn't) instead of just going fanboy or slicing and dicing (though the rare occasions where an episode totally defeats them are also highly entertaining). Put simply, it's smart and it's fun. That is rare indeed.
