    KITTELSCHUERZE 2.012 und Fluch

    Ein Dialog in der Kirche scheint selbstverständlich. Der Dialog zwischen einer Modedesignerin und einem Maler auch? „Design meets Art“ kann man schon seit 100 Jahren sagen, als Marcel Duchamp das inzwischen berühmte Urinal zur Armory Show in New York eingereicht – und mit diesem ersten „ready made“ abgelehnt worden war. Die Begegnungen von Kunst und Design seither sind vielfältigster Art. In unserer Ausstellung treffen zwei Großstadtphänomene aufeinander. Die Berliner Modedesignerin Tutu Wagner entdeckte in der östlichen Provinz der Uckermark DDR-altbackene Kittelschürzen - grell- bunt bedruckter Dederonstoff, der östliche Ersatz für DuPonts Nylon. Dieses Objekt, Sinnbild für Spießigkeit und Provinzialität, erfährt unter den Händen der Designerin eine ungeheuerliche Verwandlung. Der gemusterte Dederonstoff wird mit stark farbigem Fleecestoffen zu Collegejacken und Kleidern verarbeitet, ja collagiert – auch das ist eine Erfindung der Kunst des frühen 20. Jahrhunderts, die Collage. Diesmal war es Pablo Picasso, der Zeitungsfetzen und ein Stück Stuhlsitzgeflecht in das Bild hinein klebte (coller – frz. kleben). Reinhard Stangl - Fluch des Renegaten,Ausschnitt Die biederen Kittelschürzen mutierten zu jugendlicher Groß- stadt-Mode wie einige Jahrzehnte zuvor die Turnschuhe zum Alltagsschuh wurden. Gleichzeitig stellen diese Objekte im Zusammenhang ein Stück Feldforschung der untergegangene DDR dar: Bewahren durch Aufheben auf neuer Ebene, was zum Untergang verurteilt war.     REVENGE OF THE KITTELSCHUERZE

    Fashion video of the story and making of Kitelschuerze the new streetwear collection by TUTU. Filmed on locations from Rostock to the Uckermark to Berlin. The Kittelsvchuerze (engl.Smock-Apron ) is the key element that unites the old and the young, the east and the west.
