EP.36: SEASON ONE FINALE - A Conversation with Oliver Stone

We’ve reached the final episode of Season One! And to close out this spectacular season, we’ve brought in a legendary guest. His work has been widely discussed, taught, debated and examined for decades, and he’s not slowing down anytime soon. Joining the conversation this week is academy award winning writer, director and producer Oliver Stone. His movies such as Platoon, Wall Street, Natural Born Killers, JFK, Snowden - amongst many others - have changed the way we view, discuss and understand difficult topics such as war, politics, money and greed. His newly released memoir, Chasing the Light, was a huge success and on this episode he not only teases what a second book could entail, but shares rare anecdotes from set on many of his classic films, reflects on working with stars such as Tom Cruise, and talks about life as a director who follows the facts...not the fads. Tune in for an insightful and intellectual conversation about our theme this week, Art Imitating Life, and enjoy a behind the scenes look into one of the most brilliant creative minds of a generation. As always, we have a guest-inspired cocktail of the week! This week enjoy THE SPICY GIN BLOSSOM. Lea was previously on Real Housewives of Miami, but long before that she started her own skin care line and has been thriving ever since as a business woman, author, philanthropist, mother, wife and professional hostess. She’s the perfect guest for our theme this week: THE ART OF THE DINNER PARTY. Lea has been at the helm of hugely popular and successful charity galas and events for decades and has tips for our listeners for how to throw a party, and equally as important, how to be a great guest. She also spills her unfiltered opinion on the Girardi lawsuit. As a former Real Housewives cast member, and the wife of a high-powered attorney, she has a sharp, unique and straightforward opinion of the situation that you won't want to miss! EP.32: Expecting the Unexpected - A Conversation with Heidi Murkoff

EP.32: Expecting the Unexpected - A Conversation with Heidi Murkoff

Joining the conversation this week is Heidi Murkoff, the author and creator of the What to Expect When You’re Expecting (WTEWYE) book series and major brand. WTEWYE has been on the NYT best selling list longer than any other book, and to date the series has sold over 44 million copies in over 30 languages. On this episode, Heidi discusses when and why she knew she had to write the book, and the critical moment in her life when she sent in the first proposal (hint: contractions were involved). She talks about the unexpected success of the book and the most rewarding part of it all: meeting and working with parents all around the world. WTEWYE has grown into a brand with a website, an app, a podcast, a holiday, and even a film. Heidi shares stories from the set (including multiple nipple interactions) and why she fought hard to keep the birth scenes realistic. And if you’ve ever wondered if orgasmic births are a real thing...your questions will be answered. As always, we have a guest-inspired cocktail of the week! This week enjoy the WHAT TO EXPECT WHEN YOU’RE NOT EXPECTING. Find the full recipe and more on @twoguysfromhollywood on Instagram, and @TGFHPodcast on Twitter and Facebook. Cheers!
