REM Sleep and Hypnosis - is there a connection?

REM Sleep and Hypnosis - is there a connection?

Welcome to the weekly podcast for anyone and everyone who ever wanted to know more about therapeutic hypnosis and the benefits it offers.

Two professional hypnotherapists, each with their own respective practices on opposite sides of the Atlantic Ocean, having a weekly catch-up on Zoom, that’s what this podcast is all about.

This episode finds Denise and Martin talking about the sensations we can experience as we drift in and out of sleep, and whether or not there is a connection between this and hypnosis.

They were also talking about the experiences and effects that their respective clients report to them, such as time distortion, abd explaining a few of the technical terms you may hear when talking to hypnotists,  such as “Anchoring”, which is used a lot.

Therapeutic hypnosis has nothing to do with mind control or swinging watches it is about empowering you, the client, to take control of your own thought processes and get what you want from this much, misunderstood experience.

Why not listen in to the latest episode.

    Stress Awareness Month

    Stress Awareness Month

Season 5 Episode 10 Stress Awareness Month
Two Hypnotherapists Talking Season 5, Episode 10

April is ‘Stress Awareness Month’ in the UK, which was the topic of this week’s conversation on ‘Two Hypnotherapists Talking’, the podcast for anyone and everyone who ever wanted to know more about therapeutic hypnosis.

As ever, the chat was personal. Denise and Martin both shared their own stressors, past and present, and talked in detail about how each of them manages their own metaphorical ‘stress buckets’.

They discussed ‘good stress’ and ‘bad stress’, and how our minds and bodies react to things which happen in our day-to-day lives.

They also talked about how they use their skills to help empower their clients to manage all aspects of stress, and how to cope better on a daily basis.

Although both are long-established practitioners, with busy practices on either side of the Atlantic, this podcast is an informal chat between two professional friends and colleagues. They talk in simple everyday terms, steering away from over-complicated jargon. They aim to debunk many of the commonly held mis-conceptions around hypnosis and its therapeutic uses.

    Hypnosis & Weight Management

    Hypnosis & Weight Management

    Season 5 Episode 8 – Hypnosis & Weight Management

Episode 8 of ‘Two Hypnotherapists Talking’ finds Denise and Martin actually keeping on topic for once!

Recorded in March, they were talking about how, at this time of year, some people have ‘fallen off the wagon’ in terms of the New Year resolutions they made a couple of months ago. Weight management became the topic of this podcast.

Both Denise and Martin have considerable experience in helping their clients reach their goals and aims when it comes to looking after their weight.

Denise quizzed Martin about his own weight loss journey, losing 128 pounds a number of years ago, and since then, managing to keep the weight off. Martin revealed his human side, as they discussed, how he needs to keep maintaining the hypnotherapy programme he created for himself, to ensure he does not slide back into his old, unhelpful habits.

The conversation went on to include various anecdotes from both of them, around their own eating habits and the clients they have helped.

There are so many myths about hypnosis, and its uses in the therapeutic setting. When it comes to changing eating habits, many prospective clients need help managing their expectations. There are no miracle cures, no swinging watches, and no magic involved.

Each week, they take time out from their busy practices, on either side of the Atlantic, to have a catch-up on Zoom. They talk about anything and everything. This is their podcast, and they’d love you to join them.

So, if you’re wondering what two hypnotherapists would talk about with each other, listen in and find out.

Clearing Clutter with C. Lee Cawley

Clearing Clutter with C. Lee Cawley

    Season 5 Episode 7

This week’s episode saw Denise and Martin welcome organising expert and educator C.Lee Cawley onto the show, discussing the clutter in our houses and the clutter in our minds.

Decluttering houses, desks, and minds. Why do we hang on to such clutter? What’s the link between emotional baggage and the real thing? Why do we keep the clutter of those we have lost? Should we feel guilty if we regift something?

What’s that got to do with hypnosis? You may well ask. The correlation between the two is greater than any of them may have realised, before they started to record the show.

They talked about the similarities between hypnotherapy and de-cluttering, with a focus on small, incremental changes. They also discussed how both professions tackle dealing with emotional memories, good and bad.

C.Lee is American, living in the States, but spent many years in Cambridge, England, and talked about her time in the UK. She told them about how her career as an organiser started, and how she now helps people around the world sort their lives out. She is one of only 400 certified professional organizers worldwide.
