A limited series produced in partnership with the Okanagan Historical Society on their 100th anniversary. Each episode looks at two people, one Syilx or Metis and one settler, whose paths crossed in some way in the area in the 1800s.

    Metis packer and builder Johnny McDougall and his big family set the standard for wild-west adventure in the Okanagan. The Honourable Coutts Marjoribanks of Scotland buys his property and tries to live up to his reputation.

    Episode 3: Two Wives--Lucy Simla and Florence Richter

    Two women who married the same man, but had lives entirely their own: Lucy Simla, a Syilx Okanagan woman of great spirit and skill, and Florence Loudon Richter, a very young American brought to British Columbia by circumstance.

    Episode 2: Two Fires--Pandosy and Sw'ken'cut

    The most famous early priest in the Okanagan, Father Pandosy, has a wild start in the Oregon Territory. Once he gets to British Columbia, we find out what Chief Sw'ken'cut and his people think of this big man's presence. With thanks to Jordan Coble of the Westbank First Nation for his story.
