    67. A case in progress, plus updates!

Follow ups from two recent cases - an update about The Doc's son uncovers more questions; and from Episode 59 where we last knew an infection in an older man was caused by a fistula from the intestine, but were waiting to find out the biopsy results.  Then a new case - an 18 year-old comes in with severe groin pain that seemed to come out of nowhere.  After a lot of research and questions The Doc starts to narrow down the cause.

    66. When the patient is your son - Part 2

    66. When the patient is your son - Part 2

The conclusion to The Doc's emotional and exhausting journey to figure out the cause of his son's weeks long illness, labeled a 'fever of unknown origin' until a more specific diagnosis can be made.

If you haven't already, listen to Part 1 (episode 65) before listening to this episode for full context.

The Doc takes us through his son's recent illness and the harrowing string of events that occurred as a team of doctors on two coasts tried to figure the cause and treatment.  It also brought up the inevitable crossroad of being a doctor and parent and how The Doc had to navigate those two roles, sometimes realizing he needed to let the doctors do their job when his most important role was as dad and husband.

Funny Yet Informative

Very good podcast that helps me a lot with medical situations. While also keeping the conversation loose with some jokes and laughs here and there.

Informative and funny!

Definitely worth a listen for not only the interesting and important medical info but also the funny banter between the three of them.
