    Virtue #2, Justice

    As the Greek philosophers debated what makes an excellent life, one of the 4 main virtues Plato concluded with was Justice. But to be truly just, one must be wise, courageous and temperant because only then when emotion and bias was removed and the other virtues embraced could a person truly understand and apply justice.

    Plato said there are 4 main virtues to live a virtuous life and today we look at the first one, Wisdom. What’s the difference between knowledge and wisdom? How does wisdom make us virtuous?

    Socrates and the pursuit of virtue and knowledge

    Ancient philosophers differ from modern philosophers in that they searched out answers to live a virtuous life, not just acquire head knowledge. Virtue meant living a life of moral excellence that added value to this world. We can do that by transferring head knowledge into heart knowledge...if we choose to.

    Band-Aids, the magical healer, or are they?

    Kids love to use band-aids to cover their ouchies, but even adults try to band-aid ouchies. The truth is that band-aids don't heal all pains and fix all problems. We have to get to the heart of the issue to be healthy mentally and move forward with purpose.
