Ep. 11: Leading From Within: The Importance of Character in Leadership

It is said that "If everything rises and falls on leadership... I promise that every leader rises and falls on character." True or false? When you think of the greatest leaders that the Most High has blown breathe into their lungs to create, what stands out? High moral standards? An uncompromising sense of integrity? It all seems good right? But what about the unfortunate fall of our greatest leaders? What did they lack? In what areas were they not disciplined? Who besides themselves have suffered because of their poor leadership and character? Are they even still considered leaders? Does one's ability to have great character also call into question one's ability to have the capacity to lead in greatness? During this episode we dive deep into the many questions surrounding leadership, character and the impact that they both have on our personal and professional lives as Black men. Ep. 10: Becoming the G.O.A.T.

In sports we decide based on an athlete's body of work. In music we decide based on an musicians discography or catalog. For writing we decide based on an authors bibliography. For career oriented individuals we decide based on their resume. We use these measures to determine who is the greatest in their areas of expertise... the G.O.A.T., greatest Of All Time. This conversation is a common conversation for men. But what we as men rarely converse about is what it would take for us to be the G.O.A.T. as fathers, husbands, friends, men. We all have a desire to be the best that we can be, or at least that is the hope. Ride with us on this journey as we discuss this topic on our first ever LIVE Facebook recording. Ep. 9: Is Hip-Hop An Audio Assassination or Lyrical Liaison?

Of the many ongoing topics since its birth on August 11, 1973, the conversation around hip-hop is one that can be highly debated. Whether it be in barbershops, public schools, institutions of higher education, churches, and homes, of the many questions that are posed, one you will never be able to avoid is hip-hop being positive or negative for the culture. In this episode of the U Good, Bro?! podcast, the UGB Pod Squad locks in on the topic and gives their insight and experiences with hip hop from accountability, hypermasculinity, capitalism, women, influence and more. So ask yourself, "Is Hip Hop an Audio Assassination or Lyrical Liaison?" For some it is easy. "You can get with this. Or you can get with that." Black Sheep made it simple for you in the track, "The Choice is Yours". For others there are too many factors to consider, which leads them to scratch their heads and wish that it would be as the title of the Wu-Tang Clan track, "Can It Be All So Simple".  To subscribe, support and/or donate to the U Good, Bro?! Ep. 8: Silent Screams & Loud Tears: Men, Grief and Sitting in Our Shit

It has been written that “Dealing with grief is essential to manhood.” This episode will focus on grief and loss and how we as men deal with it. Our discussion ranges from how men process death and grief, it's connection to mental illness, when intimate relationships die, losing one's self for the sake of others, and ultimately what it means to die to self. This episode also looks at the different stages of grief and loss through its theoretical framework. One thing that the Founder and Owner of Influx of Wealth, LLC, Tony Bunn, says that "You can't fix what you don't face." And what we face isn't always easy and it could very well be the reason we are unable to push forward through life. And let's be clear, addressing grief and loss is a very complex thing and it comes with a cause and effect. A snowball effect. A domino effect.
