UAP as NHI: Probability vs. Certainty

Bill Sego

Unidentified Anomalous Phenomenon as Non-Human Intelligence is a site dedicated to promoting a uniquely combined philosophical, scientific, and logical approach to the UFO enigma. The primary goal is to assess a non-human-intelligence probability value of the phenomenon without the need for claims of scientific fact or absolute truth. The aim is to offer a fresh approach that eliminates the need for "opinion" or "belief" in public discussions about the topic. Instead, a neutral position that fosters non-biased interpretation and pluralistic discourse is encouraged.

Ep 020: A Full Reading of the MJ-12 Eisenhower Briefing Document

In this episode, I present a full, chronological reading of the three most widely discussed MJ-12 documents: the Eisenhower Briefing Document, the Truman Memo to Forrestal, and the Cutler/Twining Memo. Allegedly created between 1947 and 1954, these papers claim to outline a secret government effort to manage UFO crash recoveries and non-human intelligence, spanning the administrations of Harry S. Truman and Dwight D. Eisenhower. The episode begins with a brief introduction to how these documents first surfaced in the 1980s and later years, why they became so influential within UFO lore, and how they came to be regarded as the core of the MJ-12 narrative. Following that introduction, I provide uninterrupted readings of all three documents in the order they were supposedly produced. I chose to present the Eisenhower Briefing Document in its entirety because, despite its prominence, I could not locate a complete audio version anywhere in the historical record. The Truman Memo to Forrestal is read first, presenting the alleged origin of MJ-12, followed by the Briefing Document, and concluding with the Cutler/Twining Memo, attributed to Robert Cutler and addressed to Nathan Twining, which is often cited as placing MJ-12 directly within the Eisenhower White House. Each document is presented without interruption so listeners can hear the material as it exists, rather than through excerpts or summaries. The episode concludes with a balanced overview of the strongest arguments offered by both UAP proponents and skeptics regarding these documents’ authenticity. Supporters point to historical consistency, bureaucratic language, and Cold War–era context, while critics highlight problems with provenance, formatting, and the absence of corroborating archival evidence. Rather than attempting to resolve the debate, this episode aims to provide full access to the source material itself, alongside the major perspectives that surround it, allowing listeners to examine these controversial documents firsthand and decide for themselves where they stand. 00:00 - Introduction 07:44 - Truman-Forrestal Memo 08:53 - Eisenhower Briefing Document 20:26 - Cutler-Twining Memo 21:39 - Closing Arguments

Ep 019: The 10 Degrees of Disclosure

In this episode of UAP as NHI, we explore the many ways “disclosure” is defined within the UAP community and why the conversation has become so fragmented. To bring clarity to the topic, the episode introduces a simplified 10 Degrees of Disclosure framework that organizes everything from early civilian sightings to direct non-human contact into a clear, evidence-based progression. Each level is examined not only in terms of what it reveals, but how it would impact society, science, religion, and our understanding of reality itself. The episode also explores how different groups—ufologists, governments, scientists, skeptics, and the general public—would require different levels of evidence before accepting the existence of non-human intelligence. From whistleblower testimony and leaked documents to scientific confirmation and public contact events, the discussion highlights how disclosure is not a single moment, but an evolving process shaped by evidence, interpretation, and human psychology. Finally, the episode considers how the origin of non-human intelligence—whether extraterrestrial, interdimensional, future-human, or cryptoterrestrial—could dramatically influence public reaction and societal consequences. By organizing the chaos of disclosure terminology into a clear, structured model, this episode offers a grounded, accessible way to think about one of the most profound questions of our time: what it would really take for humanity to accept that we are not alone.

Ep 018: NHI Origin Likelihood Chart

This episode marks the conclusion of the NHI Origins Mini-Series, where I present the NHI Origin Likelihood Chart—a structured tool designed to estimate the most probable source of non-human intelligences associated with the UAP phenomenon. By examining sixty-five distinct points of evidence and evaluating how well each aligns with the four major origin hypotheses, the chart offers a logical, organized way to approach a topic often dominated by speculation and personal belief. The full breakdown of arguments, along with both completed and blank versions of the chart, is available on my website.Throughout the episode, I walk through select examples from each evidence category, illustrating how the reasoning process works and how an individual might assign point values based on abductive, deductive, and comparative logic. Rather than claiming absolute truth, this method provides a rational starting point for anyone seeking to make sense of the intelligence behind the phenomenon.Ultimately, this episode underscores that exploring UAP origins is a personal and evolving journey. The chart is only one analytical tool among many, intended to help cut through noise and bias while encouraging open-minded inquiry. Whether you adopt this framework, modify it, or devise your own, my hope is that it inspires a more structured, thoughtful approach to one of the most intriguing mysteries of our time.https://www.uapasnhi.com/probabilityNHI Origin Likelihood Chart Page 1:https://www.uapasnhi.com/_files/ugd/e74cdd_05e96a8b348445e390a5433cf1d726a6.xls?dn=NHI%20Origin%20Chart%20Pg%201.xlsNHI Origin Likelihood Chart Page 2:https://www.uapasnhi.com/_files/ugd/e74cdd_c387d1c3d65d4b52ac3f66070a01f827.xls?dn=NHI%20Origin%20Chart%20Pg%202.xlsEvidence Point Arguments:https://www.uapasnhi.com/_files/ugd/e74cdd_3906cb0c779e4e1eb2dde8c5de539374.docx?dn=Origin%20Point%20Arguments.docx(Blank) NHI Origin Likelihood Chart Page 1:https://www.uapasnhi.com/_files/ugd/e74cdd_ae4d75ba8c694022ad05cb3739b634c8.xls?dn=Blank%20NHI%20Origin%20Chart%20Pg%201.xls(Blank) NHI Origin Likelihood Chart Page 2:https://www.uapasnhi.com/_files/ugd/e74cdd_6bb31d4f323d4e099585c5ed27a4cb5a.xls?dn=Blank%20NHI%20Origin%20Chart%20Pg%202.xls

    Ep 017: The Interdimensional Hypothesis

In Part 4 of the NHI Origins miniseries, I examine the Interdimensional Hypothesis (IDH) as a possible contender for explaining the UAP phenomenon. From Jacques Vallée’s groundbreaking work connecting modern sightings with ancient folklore, to modern debates about high strangeness, simulation theory, and the role of consciousness, this episode unpacks the many ways the phenomenon may originate from realities beyond our own. The discussion asks what “interdimensional” truly means and whether what we interpret as metaphysical or paranormal could instead be advanced science that lies outside our current understanding. I also explore different interpretations of the IDH, including parallel realities where evolution took alternate paths, ultra-dimensional creators who might serve as the architects of a simulated universe, and the idea that what we call “gods,” “angels,” or “demons” may be reinterpretations of the same phenomenon across different eras. Cases of high strangeness, reports of portals or gateways, and theories involving orbs and perceptual manipulation are weighed not only as possible evidence of interdimensional origins, but also as effects of technology interacting with human consciousness. Ultimately, this episode emphasizes the importance of keeping every origin possibility open—extraterrestrial, ultraterrestrial, extratempestrial, cryptoterrestrial, and interdimensional—without dismissing or prematurely endorsing one over another. Whether the phenomenon is genuinely interdimensional, merely appears that way, or reflects something else entirely, the IDH remains a powerful lens through which to examine UAP and NHI. The episode concludes by setting the stage for the final installment in the series: the NHI Origin Likelihood Chart, where each hypothesis will be graded and compared side by side.

    EP 016: The Extraterrestrial Hypothesis

In Part 3 of the NHI Origins miniseries, I explore the Extraterrestrial Hypothesis (ETH), long considered the default explanation for the UAP phenomenon. Despite recent shifts in favor of alternative models, the ETH remains compelling, particularly when considering the abundance of reported craft, the variety of non-human intelligences (NHI) described by eyewitnesses, and the historical consistency of abduction and contact experiences. I examine whether the idea of alien visitors from distant star systems still holds up under scrutiny—and what that might mean for our understanding of why they’re here, how they got here, and what they want. This episode breaks down common objections to the ETH, particularly the idea that interstellar travel is too expensive or technologically prohibitive. I challenge the assumption that alien civilizations would be bound by the same economic and technological constraints we face, highlighting post-scarcity models, alternative propulsion methods, and the flaw in using our current level of technology as a universal benchmark. I also address the rise in UAP reports following humanity’s detonation of nuclear weapons and whether this “nuclear connection” strengthens or weakens the ETH. The motives behind a potential alien presence are also explored—from curiosity, observation, and containment to more speculative ideas like genetic intervention or planetary stewardship. I compare the way humans treat animals to how NHI might treat us, suggesting that what we perceive as malevolent could be misunderstood or beyond our moral framework. The episode also considers how eyewitness variability and cultural interpretation may distort the appearance or perceived origin of these beings. Ultimately, I argue that while the ETH may not be the only viable explanation, it remains one of the most structurally sound—particularly if we allow for long-term presence, local bases, or exotic technologies. I set the stage for the next installment, where the Interdimensional Hypothesis will be explored in depth, followed by a comparative Likelihood Chart to assess all four major origin models.

    EP 015: The Extratempestrial Model

In Part 2 of the NHI Origins miniseries, I explore the Extratempestrial Model (ETM), a hypothesis developed by Dr. Michael P. Masters which proposes that at least some UAP-related phenomena may be the result of time-traveling future humans. Drawing from evolutionary anthropology, theoretical physics, and high-quality case studies, Masters suggests that the beings frequently described in abduction and encounter narratives—large-brained, bipedal, humanoid figures—align more closely with what humans may evolve into than with truly alien life. The discussion then dives into counterarguments to the ETM, including the wide variety of beings and craftdescribed over the decades, which challenge the idea that a single species from one evolutionary path is responsible. Variations in body type, behavior, and technology seem to point toward multiple origins. However, the episode also presents thoughtful counterpoints: perhaps these variations are due to perceptual manipulation, such as telepathic suggestion or altered states of consciousness, which obscure the true nature of the beings being encountered. I also explore the philosophical and physical underpinnings of time itself, with reference to Julian Barbour’s concept of the “Now,” the Block Universe theory, and ideas from physicists like Carlo Rovelli and Huw Price. These theories suggest that time may not flow, and that past, present, and future could all coexist simultaneously. In such aframework, time travel becomes less paradoxical—not about changing history, but navigating a static landscape of events. This supports the core logic of the ETM: that visits from future humans don’t violate causality, because those visits were always part of the timeline. In conclusion, while the ETM faces challenges—particularly regarding the diversity of NHI reports—it remains a scientifically grounded and coherent model. When combined with theories that challenge our assumptions about time, it holds up as a viable explanation for the origin of the UAP phenomenon.
