The Courage to Want More After the Career - Part 1

He’s getting close to retirement and wondering what the next chapter will look like.  What’s left?  Mike Pittman has some great ideas about how he will move forward.  Of course there is some trepidation too, just like with any big change, we wonder how it will go, what it will look like.  Thankfully Mike’s got lots of inspiration for us to follow his example of being brave enough to try some things out - like writing and singing.  Music will play a part in what’s next and so will travel and lots of family time.  His advice?  Don’t give it a second thought.  He’s not, and we’re here to cheer him on. Mike Pitman is our guest this week for Permission to Want More: What’s Next and What’s Left.  This is part one of our conversation. Thanks for being part of the UY conversation. 10 Strategies to Combat ‘SETTLING’

We call them ‘BE’ Practices. Here on the Unabashed You podcast, we talk honestly about becoming more of who you are—not less. So many of us reach this season of life having done everything right—and still feel a low-grade ache we can’t explain. If you’ve been telling yourself, this is fine, but your soul knows better—this is for you. We had a webinar recently on 10 Signs You’re Settling (and Calling It Wisdom) - very impactful.  If you want the replay give us a shout. In today’s episode we will hear about 10 strategies to combat each the 10 signs.  We call them BE Practices.  As in ‘brave enough’ to get started, to take the first step. This isn’t about blowing up your life. It’s about noticing where comfort has replaced being brave enough to decide what you want next, and not settling. If you want more help to figure any or all of this out, Unabashed You has resources for you.  Like one on one coaching, free newsletters and free monthly webinars. You’re our passion and we’ve given ourselves permission to be there for you.  Reach out on our website, Instagram or email us at unabashedyou@gmail.com.  We’d love to hear from you. Keeping Her Faith Alive - Part 2

While Taylor Swift may not be her favorite, Rae O’Rourke loves to watch hockey, and is not a fan of sharing her food.  Guess what?  I love how she played 2 Truths and a Lie - very transparent and vulnerable.  Being herself.  Something you get to do too if you tamp down your fears about how you’re showing up.  Rae has been given the gift of patience and she uses it for self-reflection, a helpful tool. Rae internalizes a lot of her actions, and instead of losing her cool in a situation, she tries to put herself in the other people’s shoes, and then she thinks, What can I do differently?  That is the mark of keeping your faith alive.  Love in action. Rae is our guest this week for Spicy Christian Women - Becoming all that and a bag of chips.  This is part two. Thanks for being part of the UY conversation. She Found the Answers - Part 2

Are you allowed to enjoy yourself after a hard thing? In addition to eating a truly memorable meal that was described so well I could almost taste each course, at 1587 Prime* no less, which I’d never heard of before, Paula Romang can enjoy life despite having a son in heaven.  Or maybe it’s because she has a son in heaven that the good things of this life can taste so sweet again.  Like that fabulous meal. She’s given herself permission to experience joy again. Paula sees that one of the greatest gifts God has given her is long-term pain because she learned her faith had to be put into action.  It was, and she not only survived, she thrived.  She had previously believed that if she did all the ‘right things’ she would have this beautiful, smooth life.  Now she understands that hardship and suffering are part of the Christian life.  Paula knows the truth.  She’s found the answers. Paula is our guest this week for Spicy Christian Women - Becoming all that and a bag of chips.  This is part two. You can find Paula at www.paularomang.com.
