Desire Isn’t Selfish and Why What You Want Matters - Part 2

What if ‘messy action’ is the answer to what to do next?  Marianne Iverson thinks it’s a great place to start.  She believes you have to keep feeding what lights you up especially when you arrive at the place of having an empty nest.  Then it’s go time.  Marianne specializes in coming alongside these women because she knows what it’s like to cry in the parking lot after you drop your youngest kid off at college. Marianne is our guest this week for Permission to Want More: What’s Next and What’s Left.  This is part two of our conversation. You can find Marianne at marianneiverson.com. Desire Isn’t Selfish and Why What You Want Matters - Part 1

Desire isn’t selfish. It’s sacred direction.  How is that for a truth bomb This is all according to Marianne Iverson and I wholeheartedly agree.   So wanting something, wanting more is actually a good thing.  We are made by a Creator to create.  Our brain is designed to solve problems and we get to use it for that purpose which is for our pleasure while it brings meaning to us, and hopefully serves others.  Marianne is inspired by Coach Jody Moore who has taught Marianne to be open to these possibilities, to understand that if you desire it, you can create it. Marianne is our guest this week for Permission to Want More: What’s Next and What’s Left.  This is part one of our conversation. You can find Marianne at marianneiverson.com. Why You Should Break Up with ‘Should’

Yes, I see it and I hear it.  ‘Why you should break up with ‘should.’  It’s a play on words, one I want you to consider because the reality of doing it is freeing. Today we’re talking about one small word that quietly carries a surprising amount of pressure: should. The things we should do.The people we should be.The timelines we should follow. And somewhere along the way, especially for many women in the second half of life, should becomes so loud that we can barely hear ourselves anymore. In this episode, we’re exploring what happens when you stop living from obligation and start living from permission instead. Because maybe the next chapter of your life doesn’t begin with what you should do… maybe it begins with what you could do, and what you get to do. Thanks for being part of the UY conversation. Change Your Thoughts and Change Your Life

You were given the gift of choice.  There is power in that and sometimes we don’t recognize the importance of how we use it.  Megan German believes through time and practice we can release victim mentality, turn the fear down, and clean up our thoughts.  You can shrink or expand.  That is your choice. She is exercising her choice and wants to work with women in ‘becoming’ (her favorite word).  She will be building a coaching business around how women see their bodies.  Doesn’t that sound like a much needed thing?  Megan wants us to take care of them, to improve our relationship with them, and to love them. Megan German is our guest this week for Permission to Want More: What’s Next and What’s Left.  This is part two of our conversation. Thanks for being part of the UY conversation. Change your Thoughts and Change Your Life

Like her dad told her, You can never have enough of what you don’t need. How’s that for some mind bend-y advice? Megan German had lots of other wise nuggets to share with us, like how we think about things can be shifted to work better for us.  Her coach training with Jody Moore has empowered her to better understand how ‘mindset’ or ‘thought work’ can change everything.    She wants to help others see things differently for their good, just like it has encouraged her to look at circumstances differently in her own life.  Megan has given herself permission to pursue this learning in service of others. Megan German is our guest this week for Permission to Want More: What’s Next and What’s Left.  This is part one of our conversation. Thanks for being part of the UY conversation. It’s Not What You Think: The Many Disguises of Fear

What do perfectionism, comparison trap, self-doubt, and imposter-syndrome all have in common?  They are all rooted in FEAR.   There’s also fear of failure, being invisible, identity shifts, people-pleasing, and regret to name a few more.  Yes, these are rooted in fear too.  Do any of these sound familiar? I’m not enough What if I get it wrong? What will people think? What if I fail…or succeed? My time has passed. It’s safe not to want more. Today’s episode The Many Disguises of Fear, comes from our First Thursday Webinar of the same name.  We look at how we can become more aware of fear in our life, so that we can start to turn it down.  We will never get rid of it completely but we can soften its impact. We’ve given suggestions on how to combat some common ones like comparison and self-doubt, waiting and overthinking, playing small, fear of failure & success, ‘it’s too late’ thinking, and avoidance disguised as peace - you know, settling. And if you want to see how you are showing up in your life right now, ask for the 6 Disguises of Fear Checklist & Reflection guide.  Email us at unabashedyou@gmail.com. We are taking a brief pause in our series Permission to Want More.  We will resume that shortly.  Stay tuned.  Thanks for being part of the UY conversation. The Benefit of Saying ‘Yes’ to Love Later in Life - Part 2

He loves the sound of rushing water, or waves crashing on the sand.  Mark also can’t get the movie Train Dreams out of his head as it moved him deeply.  (On Netflix and well-worth the watch.) These are some of the ways we got to know Mark Sparrow this week.  As far as how he sees the future, he wants to be a good husband, fulfill his creative desires, follow his passions, and work on having good health.  In his day-to-day habits he would like to continue more journaling as he sees it as a helpful way to stay encouraged, and to be persistent in moving forward in the best way possible.  And he can finally say out loud, ‘I am enough.’  Yes, he certainly is. Mark Sparrow is our guest this week for Permission to Want More: What’s Next and What’s Left.  This is part two of our conversation. You can find him on Facebook, Instagram.
