EP 24 | From Security to Self-Made: Betting Everything On the Unknown

In this episode of Uncharted, I sit down with Austin Whitney to talk about what it really means to walk away from security and build a life on your own terms. Austin shares his journey from starting his first entrepreneurial venture in 2018 to going fully self-employed in 2021, followed by his wife in 2022. Together, they made the difficult decision to leave behind traditional stability — including steady income and health insurance — while raising a two-year-old and a newborn. We talk about the emotional and physical struggles of building businesses while supporting a family, the pressure that comes with choosing an uncertain path, and how those challenges ultimately led to the life they once dreamed of. Austin also shares why he’s now pursuing music full-time and how creativity and entrepreneurship intersect in his life today. This conversation dives into risk, identity, family, and what it really takes to pursue the life you want — even when the path isn’t clear. Connect with Austin Whitney! EP 19 | The Reality of Starting Young and Burning Out Featuring Jackson Hartley

In this episode of Uncharted, I sit down with country artist Jackson Hartley to talk about creativity, identity, and the moments that change everything. Jackson started his journey at just 16 years old, working professionally in video and photography and creating everything from commercials to personal films. Along the way, he fell in love with country music and began finding his voice not just behind the camera, but on stage. In 2021, Jackson was involved in a life-changing rollover accident that forced him to slow down and confront his mental health in a way he never had before. We talk openly about that season, the internal battles that followed, and how creativity and music became tools for healing. This conversation covers starting young, navigating pressure, rebuilding after trauma, and what it really looks like to grow when life doesn’t go as planned. If you’re a creative, an artist, or someone finding your way through an unexpected season, this episode is for you. Connect with Jackson Hartley! EP 18 l Starting Over When Life Falls Apart Featuring Johnny Johnson

Johnny moved out at 16 and learned early how to survive on his own. He joined the Air Force, built a life around discipline and purpose, and later found himself coaching at the highest level in the NBA. From the outside, it looked like he had “made it.” Then everything changed. After a serious helicopter accident, long periods of unemployment, and ongoing back surgeries, Johnny was forced to sit still in a life that no longer felt familiar. The identity he built through the military, sports, and work began to fall apart, bringing depression, doubt, and hard questions about who he really was without those roles. In this episode, Johnny opens up about walking away from the NBA lifestyle, pivoting into real estate investing, building condo projects, and finding deeper meaning through giving back. At the center of it all are his two kids — the reason he keeps going, even when his body tells him to stop. This conversation is about starting over when you didn’t plan to, redefining success, and learning how to rebuild a life after everything changes. Connect with Johnny Johnson!
