    EP 37: July: Hot Events to Be Cool in a Barcelona Summer!

    Holy Heatwave Batman! The summer is here and Barcelona is staying cool with music, festivals and a practice of patience! On this episode, we talk about: BARTS Festival - June 26 - July 21 This festival features concerts in a unique setting at Poble Espanyol. This year there is Rueben Blades, Belle and Sebastion and that little old band from Texas ZZTop! Tour de France in Barcelona July 4th - 6th For the first time in its 123-year history, the Tour de France will start in Barcelona. Expect major road closures and a great atmosphere! Vijazz Festival - Vilafranca del Penedès July 4th - 6th This year a highlight is Esmerelda Spalding. If good wine and great jazz if your thing, it's worth a venture out of town! Blues Festival Nou barris July 4th - 6th Celebrating 23 years of this festival with great blues artists both local and international. Cool baby! Grec Festival June 26 - July 31st This festival features a wide range of performances including theater, dance, music, and circus acts, with events happening across the city, as well as the iconic Grec Theatre on Montjuic. Pride Barcelona June 26 - July 18th Pride Barcelona 2026 aims to be a demonstration of strength, unity and commitment between the city, its citizens and the entire LGTBIQA+ community. Under the slogan “All realities, one pride”, the campaign is born from the desire to highlight the diversity that makes up our community and July 19th at 18:00 the parade starts from Universitat along Grand Via until Sant Joan and then down to the Arc. Cruïlla Festival July 8-11th This open-air festival features a diverse lineup of artists and offers music alongside art, comedy, and more. This year Suede, Pixies, David Byrne (of DUMBARTON!), Faithless, & Garbage. Sala MontJuic: 10th July -5th august. open air cinema at the Castle - plan your travel up there with extra time and water! Festa Majors: Poble Sec 17th - 26th July Raval 9th - 12th July Mens World Cup Final! July 19th - where to watch it? Well it depends on who is playing... Other wise, stay hydrated, practice patience, find shade, make friends and have fun! It features free and accessible events, taking over city squares, parks, and venues. June 4th - 7th Primavera the main event! Tickets have to be bought in advance. June 4th-7th Ou Com Balla - The dancing Egg! A unique tradition during Corpus Christi June 9th-11th The Pope is in town. June 1st - 20th Marilyn Monroe Exhibition: celebrating the 100th anniversary of Marilyn Monroe. June 18th - 20th Sónar Festival - International Festival of Music, Creativity & Technology takes over the city. For the first time, it will take place entirely at the Fira Gran Via venue. June 19th - 29th Festa Major del Casc Antic - A highly traditional neighborhood festival with human towers (castells), parades, and open-air dinners throughout the narrow streets of the Gothic and Born districts. June 24th (celebration night 23rd) Sant Joan Festival - expect a lot of noise, fires, street activities, and a dirty beach on the 24th! TUESDAY 5th MAY - BARCELONA (LA (2) DE APOLO) Poblenou Open Day - May 9th - a date with creativity 🎨 Check out the Poblenou Open Day: culture, art and unique experiences in the heart of the Creative District of Barcelona. May 8th - 10th Photography Festival 13,14,15,16 May - A ceramic festival with workshops, to get inspirations and buy stuff too.
