The ACCORD (Action to Control Cardiovascular Risk in Diabetes) BP trial explored whether intensive BP control (120 mmHg) reduced rates of nonfatal MI, nonfatal stroke or CV mortality when compared with standard (140 mmHg) blood pressure targets. Spoiler alert: it's complicated!!
