As Mr Bowers was a single father with two children, he instead became a sexual abuse investigator. My Bowers worked as a SocialWorker for 10 years, in numerous states, until he started running a Group Home for disabled adults. In 1983, Mr Bowers was published in the Providence Journal, and again in 1988, in the Lyndon Review. On 5 occasions through the years, Mr Bowers sent poems to Poetry Magazine for publication, but was turned down. Mr Bowers started counselling with an Art Therapeut in 2012, to help him heal from the loss of his sister , who disappeared 56 years prior. Mr Bowers turned those upstairs sessions into the work he is publishing now.
