Understanding Train Station

It’s an awesome podcast. I absolutely love it. Feli and Josh are such interesting people. They’re so different and so similar. Feli’s English is so good and Josh’s German is so good, too. I definitely recommend this podcast to anybody who is just bored and looking for something new to check out out there.

I love this podcast. Josh and Feli have a great dynamic. The show is both entertaining and informative. I love that I don’t need to be super focused to keep up with the flow of conversation and enjoy it. So it makes for great “multi-tasking podcast” that I can get distracted while listening to and snap right back without missing a beat.

I am an American and I have German heritage. While listening I am constantly thinking am I more German or American?! Great podcast!

Much like the last reviewer, I am not fluent in German and don’t have any cultural or ethnic connection to Germany, but I find Understanding Train Station to be a fascinating listen nonetheless. It’s actually become my favorite podcast. Josh and Feli are like two sides of the same coin, Josh growing up in Cincinnati and moving to Germany and Feli growing up in Germany and moving to Cincinnati. They share these similar, yet opposite, perspectives and talk in depth about German language and culture. It’s always easily digestible and rarely boring. (The only episodes I skip are the ones where they guess callers’ languages/dialects, which just doesn’t interest me.) I also agree with the last reviewer that the podcast is extremely relaxing. Not relaxing in a put-you-to-sleep way, mind you, but relaxing in a lower-your-blood-pressure way. I think there’s something about the tone of their voices and their harmonious style that makes listening to the podcast an extremely pleasant experience. Definitely give the podcast a try. You’ll be surprised at what you start to pick up. As Josh and Feli would say, “Tschüss.”
