Episode 224 | David Helling - His Only Son

Episode 224 | David Helling - His Only Son

Episode 224 is with David Helling - Director of the new film "His Only Son."It is one of the most controversial moments in all Scripture-- when the Lord God tested Abraham by commanding him to take his son, his only son, and sacrifice him on the mountain of Moriah. This feature film illustrates that striking account, following Abraham, his son and their two servants as they journey for three days to the place of the offering. Along the way, the men encounter dangers and trials as Abraham silently relives memories spanning the decades he and his wife, Sarah, longed for the son God had promised… the son he must now lay upon the altar. Answering age-old questions as to why the Lord would require such a sacrifice, His Only Son profoundly explores mankind's relationship to God and encourages viewers to turn inward and ask: Can your faith still stand when you are asked to give everything?David Helling grew up in Southern Louisiana but spent the bulk of his teens in Texas. Upon graduating high school, David shipped to California for a five-year-stint in the United States Marine Corps– a commitment which eventually took him to the sands of Al-Anbar Province in Iraq. There in the desert, near the edge of ancient Babylon, in a combat zone, another battle was raging in David himself– a war within that eventually drove to the Bible. The result was a transformed heart, sincere faith and a burning desire to tell others of those Biblical accounts. Since then, David has made it his life’s mission to bring Scripture’s Truth from the page to the screen. This endeavor has resulted in many short films and scripts, garnering numerous awards, accolades and international attention– all which now culminate in his debut feature film, His Only Son.https://HisOnlySonMovie.com

    Epsiode 223 | KT Griffiths

Episode 223 is with KT Griffiths. Nashville, TN - Shhh….Mental Illness: The Silent Disease is a new intimate memoir designed to bring hope and community to caregivers of those who are battling mental illness. Told from the heart of a mother, author K.T. Griffiths, Shhh…is published by Morningstar Publications and is now available in paperback and Kindle formats. “I wanted to write a very personal, very transparent look at loving someone who is struggling with mental illness,” shares K.T. "So often, caregivers suffer in silence. As a mother who is challenged by the chaos and unknowns of mental illness, I wanted to offer wisdom and hope to parents, children, spouses, and siblings who may feel alone helping their loved one battle this disease." Each day, news headlines and daytime TV programs share a myriad of stories attempting to normalize issues of mental health. Doctors align mental health conditions with other health crises such as cancer, diabetes, and heart disease, yet those who are battling this illness and their families, too often suffer in silence and isolation. Based on K.T.’s journals, Shhh… explores the rollercoaster ride of mental illness and provides valuable insights into coping with the shock, anger, and devastation of this challenging disease. Sharing her heart of loving a child battling mental illness, the book argues there is always beauty amid the broken, and that brighter days are ahead. K.T. continues, “I hope Shhh… can help others feel like they no longer need to be silent as they try to love and care for someone with mental illness. As we share our stories, together we can find strength, bring hope, and live knowing that we are truly not alone.” Published by Morningstar Publications, Shhh…Mental Illness, the Silent Disease is available in both print and Kindle formats. https://www.ktgriffiths.com/

Episode 221 | Jason Palmisano Win Your Days

Episode 221 is with Jason Palmisano of Win Your Days. Stick around because we have a special offer just for our audience! Hi, I’m Jason, Certified High Performance Coach, consultant, and inspirational speaker. When people ask me what I do for a living I simply say, “I win.” I know that in Christ I am more than a conqueror and my faith guides my life. I'm not just a positive thinker, I'm a possibility thinker because I believe with God all things are possible.I haven't always felt like I was winning. My father-in-law once asked me, “Is this really the life you have for my daughter?” Wendy and I were on food stamps at the time and life wasn’t turning out the way I planned. I felt shame and judgement, but more than anything else, I felt like I was losing in life.At the time, I was launching a new business which was taking longer than I planned and was harder than I imagined. But, deep down I knew I was going to find a way to win. Jesus said, "Seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well." Matthew 6:33. I knew that if I kept my faith at the forefront of my life, God would show me how to figure it out and He did. To me, winning is keeping my faith number one, always growing, always moving forward, always getting back up. It's living with excellence and resiliency while remaining true to myself and my values. In 2008, my wife, Wendy, and I co-founded Trinity Fitness, a gym focused on spiritual and physical health. By 2018 we had 18 gyms across multiple states. I served as the CEO until December, 2021. Today my full time focus is leading a movement of men who are rising up to win in life, love, and business so that they have the freedom to do what they love with the people they love and have the Kingdom impact they want.Website - https://www.winyourdays.com/Register for the Conference - https://www.winyourdays.com/win-your-days-live-registration

Episode 219 | Rod Laughlin - The Readable Bible

The Readable Bible is Scripture the way it would look if the biblical writers had been sitting in front of a computer when God spoke through them. The first of its kind (there hasn't been a cover-to-cover Bible formatting update in the last one hundred years), it's primarily a word-for-word translation that arranges the text in the easy-to-read formats of today's books. It's the best of both worlds: accurate yet understandable. https://www.readablebible.com/

Engaging. Honest. Real.

Unscripted is one of the best podcasts I have listened to. Aaron does a marvelous job of hosting this gem by initiating the conversation and then getting out of the way so his guests can tell their story. I also enjoy how diverse his guests are ranging from sports, education, pastors, authors, his daughter and the list goes on. Unscripted is great for my ears and even better for my spirit.

Jeromy Rose ,
