Untangle is a monthly youth-run podcast brought to you by Create-ive Family. With each episode, we will delve into and untangle various mental health topics from motivation to the many creative outlets to be explored. Through casual conversations, special guests, and storytelling, we aim to portray the experiences of young people navigating the mental health space. Ultimately, enabling youth to be active members in the conversation about mental health and promoting an accepting and positive environment.

    Episode 5: Welcome Week Rep Interview

    In this month’s episode of Untangle, our two hosts, Jeffrey and Krisha, are joined by Febbi, a welcome week representative at McMaster University! Febbi is involved with organizing and leading many of the events for new students during frosh week. They discuss the difficulties presented by the constantly changing COVID guidelines and challenge of planning in person and online events while maintaining community and excitement within the group of new students. The COVID-19 pandemic has affected practically every facet of life, and we are thrilled to have presented another perspective of this that you may not have thought of before!

    Episode 4: Vaccination & Summer Check-In

    In this month’s episode of Untangle, our hosts, Jeffrey and Krisha, are joined by guest speaker and podcast video editor, Adriana! In this episode, we discuss the ever-so-topical subject of vaccination. Everything from side effects as they vary from person to person and between first and second doses, what you can do to alleviate some of them, and navigating vaccination from outside of Canada. We finish off with a brief summer check-in with the team as they wind down for the rest of the break and prepare for the fall, including their new hobbies, learning new languages, new jobs, creative struggles, and even bubble tea!

    Episode 3: Summer Opportunities

    In this month’s episode of Untangle, our hosts, Jeffrey and Krisha, are joined by guest speaker and podcast lead, Sophie! With the uncertainty that has emerged with the COVID-19 pandemic along with the pressure to maintain productivity, this summer break may not be as relaxing as expected. We cover topics such as applying for summer positions, taking summer courses, and obsessively browsing through Linkedin. As young people, we constantly push ourselves to work hard and often compare ourselves to those around us. It is important to remember that we all work at different paces, and in different ways, so we must remember to do what’s best for us.

    In this month’s episode of Untangle, we will dive into some possible activities and hobbies you can try out this summer! With the rise of TikTok and other social media platforms during the pandemic, there’s something new for everyone to learn. Our two hosts, Jeffrey and Krisha will be sharing some of their favourite summer activities, alongside sharing some of our podcast team’s summer endeavours. From cooking simple recipes to knitting intricate clothing, there’s an activity for everyone, so find yours through this special podcast episode!

    In this month’s episode of Untangle, we focus on the topical issue of motivation, burnout, and productivity during online learning. Our two hosts, Jeffrey and Krisha, along with our guest (and podcast video editor!) Adriana, discuss their own experiences navigating classes and school, along with the strategies they used to cope with changes brought on by the pandemic.
