Quieting your ego so you can make aligned choices (Season 3 finale)

Quieting your ego so you can make aligned choices (Season 3 finale)

How do you get past the fear of judgment or the voice inside your head that's saying your dreams are too far out of reach? In the Season 3 finale, I delve into my journey over the past six months, and share the big realizations that have helped me conquer some major ego hurdles to accomplish things I'd never thought possible.

It's been a wild ride this season, from the rebrand of the podcast to quitting my job to fully chase my magical dreams. Thank you for being by my side on this journey. Your support has meant the world to me, and I hope sharing my experiences have helped you conquer some of the fears you've faced along your own path.

It's a never-ending journey, and that's what makes it exciting. But there are a few things that can make it more enjoyable – particularly when we know we're going to have to face some turbulence along the way. One of the biggest "ahas" for me has been to separate my ego (and my mind) from "me." My reflections on this topic may be helpful to you. If you want to learn more about this practice, I highly recommend two books. One is for your soul, the second is for your mind:
Living Untethered - Beyond the Human Predicament by Michael A. SingerA Liberated Mind: How To Pivot Toward What Matters by Steven C. HayesI look forward to seeing you again in season 4, which will kick off on January 3. Happy holidays to you and yours!

    Start living your unconventional life

    Start living your unconventional life

Are you living your dream — or someone else’s? Be honest with yourself here. Because there are a lot of us living according to others’ expectations, striving to be the person you think others want you to be instead of showing up as the person you want to be. Today, I’m here to tell you: it’s okay to put it all down.

    What is unconventional, anyway?!

Just because it’s unconventional for other people, doesn’t mean it’s unconventional for YOU. And your unconventional thing might be exactly what you — and the world — need.

I recorded this episode from a hotel in Santa Monica, where I’ve come to enjoy a retreat. It’s been a beautiful experience, but I’ve also been experiencing a lot of activations from triggers related to being a “good” daughter, sister, wife, friend, and human. As I’ve stretched my own capacity for love, healing, and abundance, I’ve felt my own unworthiness speak up to let me know all the ways I’m “doing it wrong” and harming others with my selfishness.

But I know, in my heart and soul, that the part of me that feels like it needs to be “good” and the part that’s undeserving are not my parts at all. In fact, those parts are telling stories I don’t even believe. They’re not even my parts at all. They’re someone else’s.

I invite you to reflect on any activations you may be experiencing in the topic of your own abundance, truth, and the dreams you may be living for anyone but yourself.

After listening to this episode, journal on the following questions:
What abundance would I love to invite into my life today? Where can I expand into more joy and abundance for myself? When I do expand or dream into my abundance, what stories do I hear? Is anyone telling me it’s not possible? Is it true? What stories am I  ready to put down?If I put these stories or tasks or achievements down, what do I want to want to be doing instead? How do I want to serve?
Follow Peace of the Heart Movement that I mentioned in this episode.

Kristina Driscoll on being brave enough to live an unconventional life

Kristina Driscoll on being brave enough to live an unconventional life

How do you find the courage to live an unconventional life? What happens when you desire something different from what's "expected" of you or you feel called to a decision you fear might be judged by others? Having navigated the ups and downs of an incredibly unconventional life, Kristina Driscoll is here to show us the way.

In this episode, Kristina walks us through some remarkable moments across her unique and unconventional experiences, and some spiritual moments and lessons that floored me. It's hard to ignore the synchronicities she's seen! Her story is so powerful, I'm honored to have her on the podcast to share it.

Kristina and I recently met at an event in LA, and we instantly clicked. As we chatted for a few minutes, I knew I had to have her come on the podcast to share. There are so many people living in ways that don't aligned with our truth, in big ways and in small ways. My hope is that sharing her story will inspire you to get into greater integrity with yourself. It definitely inspired me.

Let's all stop striving for straight As

Let's all stop striving for straight As

How do you leave the perfectionism behind and start gaining positive momentum toward your dreams? We've learned to strive for straight As, to always have the right answer, to come to the meeting the best ideas, but this can be extremely harmful – closing off connection, creativity, and possibilities. The antidote? Curiosity.

Curiosity? Yes, I know. It sounds so simple, but curiosity the gateway to your creativity and abundance. It invites us all to let our guard down, opening the door to better connection with others. It brings about a new perspective, a more open conversation, allowing new ideas to burgeon. A simple question can pull us out of our linear or black-and-white thinking that often has us mindlessly chasing our tails.

And getting curious with yourself is one of the most powerful tools for shifting your mindset and behaviors that are keeping you stuck in a life you're ready to grow out of.

After listening to this episode, ask yourself these questions:
What am I curious about? What does the fact that I have this curiosity say about me?Here's a link to the Mel Robbins and Dr. Becky podcast mentioned in this episode.

How to trust yourself, even while making big life decisions - with Brenda Winkle

How to trust yourself, even while making big life decisions - with Brenda Winkle

We know we should trust ourselves, but how exactly do you do it? Brenda Winkle is on the podcast today to share some big wisdom (and some practical know-how) on this topic, including how you can know when it's the time to say "heck yes" to a big life change.

In fact, both Brenda and I are going through big life changes as we speak. Interestingly enough, we both came to Portland, Oregon, about a year ago. Once here, we both got new jobs here in the Portland area that had felt like the perfect dreamy gig. Today, we've both left those jobs in pursuit of our true passions (which are also strangely aligned!)

If you've been thinking about making a life change or career move, this is the episode for you. We talk honestly about the unexpected moments on our journeys – and how we ultimately made the life-altering decisions we made.

Brenda is a true delight and full of wisdom. Enjoy this episode, and if you do, be sure to share it with a friend who needs to hear it.

Some key takeaways from this episode:
Giving yourself permission to change your mind is one of the most liberating things you can do for yourself (and others)It's critical that you love where you’re at while also exploring your curiosity You can trust any idea that comes about while you're in a state of joy When there’s ease with what you’re doing, you know you’re on the right pathFollow your joy (Ask yourself: What can I do to feel joy right now?)
