Unveiling the Beast

Kaitie Entrikin

Hey guys! I'm Kaitie, and I am on a mission to help humans become the BEST versions of themselves, and to unveil what I like to call the Beautiful Beast that already lives inside us all. I have had the privilege to talk to all kinds of different humans who have been through a plethora (I love big words); a myriad of experiences, just being a human and existing. We talk about parenthood, business, life goals, health, fertility, fear... All the beautiful and the ugly. My hope is that you leave each episode with at least ONE nugget of wisdom or a tool you can apply to your own life.

191 Your Body Has Been Trying to Tell You Something

What's up you Beautiful Beasts! Welcome back to the show! In this episode, I sit down with Debbie Simmons, nonprofit founder, CEO, mom of nine, grandma to fifteen, and someone whose own health crisis completely changed the way she thinks about healing. We talk about why whole-human health is so much bigger than food and exercise, how chronic stress can quietly shape our bodies and lives, and why building trust with yourself matters just as much as building trust with anyone else. Debbie shares the powerful story of an injury that refused to heal, what it taught her about stress, self-awareness, and slowing down, and why she believes the goal isn't perfection, it's taking the next best step. We also dive into noticing your own patterns without judgment, learning from the data your life gives you, and how small shifts can create massive change over time. If you've ever felt overwhelmed, stuck in survival mode, or wondered why your body seems to be fighting you, I think this conversation will leave you feeling hopeful and reminded that healing is an adventure, not a finish line.  As always, I hope something lands with you today. I hope something tugs at your heart strings and/or I hope you laugh. Bio: Debbie Simmons is the Founder and CEO of Anchor Point and the creator of the Architecture of Trust, a management discipline that examines how leadership alignment, decision clarity, and execution systems shape trust and performance inside organizations. Through her work with executive teams, she helps leaders diagnose structural friction that slows decisions, weakens alignment, and disrupts execution, and redesign the systems that allow organizations to move faster and perform with greater reliability.  Music by Prymary: Sean Entrikin (my hot husband) on guitar, Chris Quirarte on drums, Smiley Sean on keyboards, Rob Young on bass, and Jaxon Duane on vocals. 190 Your Inner Child Wants a Bouncy House

What's up you Beautiful Beasts! Welcome back to the show! In this episode, Harris Eddy Hill returns for a very different conversation than our first one, and honestly, we spent a good chunk of it cry-laughing. We talk about why laughter is every bit as important as the serious healing work, how humor can help regulate the nervous system, and why some of the deepest connections in our lives are built through ridiculous jokes, family banter, and shared moments of absurdity. Along the way, we swap stories about laughing at funerals, inappropriate humor, workaholism, relationships, dad jokes, and why none of us want our headstones to read "Really good at spreadsheets." Beneath all the silliness, though, is a powerful reminder that life is short, joy matters, and maybe we're all just weird little humans trying to survive hard things, love each other well, and laugh whenever we can. Because sometimes healing doesn't sound like meditation music. Sometimes it sounds like snort-laughing with people who love you.  Bio: Harris Eddie Hill (they/them) is a nonbinary podcaster, connection expert, best-selling author, and founder of The Secure Connection Method, a trauma-informed framework for building secure relationships in love, leadership, and life. A former NHS coach and sought-after speaker, Harris helps people move beyond emotional disconnection and into deeper trust, psychological safety, and lasting transformation. Through their own journey of surviving trauma, illness, family rejection, mental health struggles, and temporary paralysis, Harris brings a deeply human, practical approach to healing, connection, and emotional freedom.  Music by Prymary: Sean Entrikin (my hot husband) on guitar, Chris Quirarte on drums, Smiley Sean on keyboards, Rob Young on bass, and Jaxon Duane on vocals. 189 Who Made These Rules Anyway?

What's up you Beautiful Beasts! Welcome back to the show! In this episode, I sit down with Kitsy Higgins for a conversation that felt like two curious humans pulling apart all the rules we were handed and asking, "Wait… who decided this?" We talk about authenticity, intuition, confidence, loneliness, playfulness, and why so many of us spend years trying to fit into lives that don't actually feel like ours. Kitsy shares her own journey of learning to trust herself, embracing the things that bring her joy, and making big decisions that didn't always make sense to other people but felt deeply aligned with who she really is. Along the way, we explore why fun isn't childish, why feelings aren't something to fear, how loneliness can exist even when we're surrounded by people, and why healing isn't about arriving at some magical finish line. It's about continuing to grow, evolve, and give yourself permission to become more fully you. This episode is full of laughter, deep questions, unexpected tangents, and reminders that maybe the goal isn't to fit into someone else's version of life. Maybe the goal is to build a life that feels amazing to live. Because sometimes the bravest thing you can do is stop asking everyone else for permission and finally trust yourself. As always, I hope something lands with you today. I hope something you hear tugs at your heart strings and/or I hope you laugh. Bio: Kitsy Higgins is a Manifesting Master and Intuition Expert who helps women create their dream life! After witnessing the impact she was making locally with her channeling business, she moved it online in 2017 to make a difference worldwide. During that time, she experienced a life-altering transformation that allowed her to reclaim her authenticity, confidence, power, and authority. When she’s not spending time with her two boys, traveling the globe, or recording digital courses, she’s organizing her two events in Pittsburgh.  Music by Prymary: Sean Entrikin (my hot husband) on guitar, Chris Quirarte on drums, Smiley Sean on keyboards, Rob Young on bass, and Jaxon Duane on vocals. 188 A Google Search Gave Her an Eating Disorder

What’s up you Beautiful Beasts! Welcome back to the show! In this episode, Lauren Ganim and I dig into how one innocent Google search about becoming a faster runner turned into years of battling food, body image, and herself. We talk about how diet culture sneaks in through sports, social media, wellness advice, family messaging, and all those “you’re doing it wrong” internet rules that make people question their own bodies. Lauren breaks down why restriction is often the real driver behind bingeing, why more discipline is not always the answer, and why information alone does not heal the deeper patterns underneath food struggles. We also explore the idea that healing is not about loving only the shiny, easy parts of yourself. It is about getting curious about the parts you’ve judged, ignored, or tried to get rid of, because those parts usually have something important to say. If you’ve ever felt overwhelmed by conflicting health advice or wondered why your body feels like something to fight instead of something to listen to, this conversation is for you. As always, I hope something lands with you today. I hope something you hear tugs at your heart strings and/or I hope you laugh. Bio: Lauren is a registered dietitian whose own recovery from a 16-year eating disorder and chronic gut health issues transformed the way she understands healing. Today, she bridges the emotional and behavioral side of eating struggles with their physical impact on the body in a deeply relational, body-led approach, helping teens, adults, and athletes recover from cycles of chronic dieting, under-eating, over-exercise, and bingeing, to reconnect with their bodies and restore trust. Her work supports not only eating behaviors and physical symptoms, but the deeper emotional patterns underneath them. This isn’t just her job, it’s her way of life. Beyond her dietitian credentials, she is also a studying clinical herbalist, runner, and a lover of health, fitness, spirituality, and nature. She works through one core philosophy: the body is innately intelligent, and true healing can be found through rebuilding a relationship with it. Today, her body is her greatest teacher and her best friend.  Music by Prymary: Sean Entrikin (my hot husband) on guitar, Chris Quirarte on drums, Smiley Sean on keyboards, Rob Young on bass, and Jaxon Duane on vocals. 187 We Broke the Rules of Both Diet Culture AND Intuitive Eating

In this roundtable episode, I sit down with Cheryl Burton-Murphy and Libby Supan for the kind of conversation that feels like three women pulling up chairs, telling the truth, and refusing to pretend healing is simple. We talk about eating disorder recovery, intuitive eating, body autonomy, GLP-1s, intentional weight loss, and the messy gray area that so many people are afraid to touch. Cheryl shares what it feels like to live eight years on the other side of a 40-year eating disorder, Libby brings her perspective as a therapist, certified intuitive eating counselor, and someone who has done her own recovery work, and I share more of my own evolution from “absolutely not” to “let me research the actual nuance here.” We dig into childhood diet culture wounds, body shame, medical bias, food rules, recovery, and the weird culty corners that can exist on both sides of the health conversation. This episode is funny, honest, spicy, tender, and very “think for your damn self,” because healing is not about trading one rigid rulebook for another. It is about learning to trust yourself again.  As always, I hope something lands with you today. I hope something you hear tugs at your heart strings and/or I hope you laugh. Bios:  Cheryl: Cheryl is a truth‑telling communicator and yoga instructor who mixes cultural humility with big personality and even bigger heart. On the mat or behind the mic, she brings sharp insight, real talk, and plenty of laughs. Her mission: help people breathe deeper, think differently, and connect more honestly — all while keeping things refreshingly real.  Libby: Libby Supan is a licensed marriage and family therapist, certified intuitive eating counselor, and someone who brings deep personal insight to her work after recovering from a 20-year battle with an eating disorder. Her lived experience is the foundation of her passionate commitment to helping others heal.Libby runs a therapy and coaching practice that supports individuals who feel overwhelmed by constant thoughts about food and body image. She specializes in guiding those stuck in unhealthy eating patterns such as: emotional eating, overeating, binge eating and restricting food toward intuitive eating and lasting food freedom. 186 The Most Important Thing You Can Learn Is How to Sit Still

What up, Beasts? I talk with Himanish Goel about purpose, identity, spirituality, authenticity, and what happens when life takes you down paths you never expected. Himanish shares how he spent years feeling like he was walking through chaos, planting seeds he didn’t always get to see grow, and slowly learning that sometimes the point is not forcing the outcome, but becoming more aware of who you are while you move through it. We talk about doing the thing for the sake of the thing, the danger of chasing someone else’s version of success, the layers we collect from the world, and why silence, patience, and self-reflection can teach us more than constantly running toward the next thing. This one is deep, reflective, and a little existential in the best way.  As always, I hope something lands with you today. I hope something you hear tugs at your heart strings and/or I hope you laugh. Bio: Himanish Goel is an Experience Filmmaker with his eyes set on acting and producing. He believes life is best lived when you stop trying to control every moment and just let it breathe with you. Not the accidents that leave you shaken, but the ones that quietly shift everything in your life, the kind that sneak up on you and change the whole direction of where you're headed. Those unexpected turns, he believes, are what make life feel more real. And that belief is what lives at the heart of every story he tells.  Music by Prymary: Sean Entrikin (my hot husband) on guitar, Chris Quirarte on drums, Smiley Sean on keyboards, Rob Young on bass, and Jaxon Duane on vocals. 185 Your Inner Child Is Still Running the Show (And Probably Needs Peanut Butter)

What up, Beasts? In this episode, I sat down with therapist and storyteller Ishara Lee for a conversation about identity, inner child work, manipulation, healing, and what it actually takes to find yourself again after losing who you are inside someone else’s version of you. We talked about how we become “a collection of our yesterdays,” the voices we unknowingly carry from other people, and how adulthood is often the process of dismantling who we were taught to be so we can uncover who we actually are. Ishara shared the deeply personal story of losing herself in a controlling relationship during college, the isolation and heartbreak that followed, and the unexpected ways she rebuilt herself through dance, strength training, cosplay, community, and storytelling. This episode is about reclaiming your identity, honoring your younger self, and maintaining what Ishara calls “a healthy disregard for the impossible.” It is thoughtful, nerdy, emotional, funny, and honestly one of my favorite conversations about healing and becoming.  As always, I hope something lands with you today. I hope something you hear tugs at your heart strings and/or I hope you laugh. Bio: Ishara holds a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and a Child and Adolescent Development certification. She has professional experience in mental health, working with individuals, couples, families, and groups, as well as in crisis and trauma intervention. Her therapeutic approach currently incorporates dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) and Internal Family Systems (IFS), rooted in a combination of behavioral and humanistic approaches to addressing client concerns. She has experience supporting individuals navigating LGBTQIA+ challenges, depression, grief and loss, anxiety, and relationship issues. In her free time, she enjoys cosplay, video games, reading when she has the focus to do so, and learning about different cultures and folklore. She also enjoys watching movies and occasionally uses examples from media to illustrate relatable points in her work as a therapist.  Music by Prymary: Sean Entrikin (my hot husband) on guitar, Chris Quirarte on drums, Smiley Sean on keyboards, Rob Young on bass, and Jaxon Duane on vocals. 184 She Thought Horses Were the Therapy. They Were the Mirror.

This week on Unveiling the Beast, I sat down with Sue Willoughby, host of Midlife Strategies for Badass Women, and this conversation felt like sitting around a fire with someone who has truly lived. We talked about curiosity as a life-changing superpower, following the weird breadcrumbs that keep calling to you, and why so many women hit midlife and suddenly realize they have no idea who they are outside of the roles they’ve been performing. Sue shares how growing up with an alcoholic parent shaped her relationship with discomfort, how horses became both a refuge and a mirror throughout her life, and how equine-assisted coaching helps people uncover the hidden patterns, boundary issues, and emotional truths they’ve been carrying for years. We also dive into identity, reinvention, messy middle seasons, intuition, and why the answers we’re searching for are often already inside us waiting to be uncovered. Honestly, this episode felt less like an interview and more like a giant permission slip to stop abandoning yourself and start getting curious about your own life again. As always, I hope something lands with you today. I hope something you hear tugs at your heart strings and/or I hope you laugh. Bio: Sue Willoughby is a truth-teller, boundary-breaker, and certified Equus Coach® who helps women over 40 stop playing small and start living like they mean it. With horses as her co-facilitators, she cuts through the noise to help clients reconnect with their power, ditch burnout, and trust their damn instincts. Raised tough, lived wild, and rebuilt from the ground up, Sue brings real talk, deep heart, and a no-fluff approach to personal transformation. Based outside Seattle with her horse Moose and two mini Dachshunds, she’s here to help you stop surviving and start showing up for your life.
