Ep. 68: Quality x Distribution = The Size of Your Impact

Ep. 68: Quality x Distribution = The Size of Your Impact

In this episode, I have both exciting news, and a honest reflection on something I have learned this year.

The exciting news is that after many months of hard work, my team at Swoz Consulting has released Legendary Brands Academy! (LegendaryBrandsAcademy.com) This online program contains all of the proven strategies I have used to revolutionize multiple industry-leading brands, from household names, to local mom-and-pops. It's not just theories. It's a specific step-by-step system that is designed to transform your brand from the ground-up and create diehard Raving Fans. It's over 20 years of wisdom from being on the front lines of legendary brands, all at the click of a mouse.

However, this isn't just a celebratory episode. I also want to talk about one area that I am focusing on improving this year. I confess that I have not always been as focused as I could be on effective distribution strategies. I was always taught that quality is important -- and it is! But your quality can only go as far as your distribution.

During the creation of Legendary Brands Academy, I developed a new formula for understanding the relationship between the quality of your product and the distribution of your product: Quality x Distribution = The Size of Your Impact. If your quality is a 10 but your distribution is 0, then 10 x 0 = 0 impact. I want to talk about how to navigate the world of balancing quality and distribution, an area that I am striving to improve this year!

P.S.: If you have a brand, and you want to learn exactly how to transform it into a game-changer in your industry, you can check out Legendary Brands Academy here!: www.LegendaryBrandsAcademy.com

Ep. 66: Drawing Inspiration - Butch Hartman on the Art of Playing the Long Game (with Butch Hartman, Creator of The Fairly OddParents)

Ep. 66: Drawing Inspiration - Butch Hartman on the Art of Playing the Long Game (with Butch Hartman, Creator of The Fairly OddParents)

This week, I got to sit down with my great friend and animation legend Butch Hartman, the creative genius behind hit shows like The Fairly Oddparents, Danny Phantom, The Garden, and more. (Not to mention, a brand new Fairly OddParents show, Fairly Oddparents: A New Wish, is scheduled to launch soon!) With over 20 years at Nickelodeon, and now heading his own studio, Butch shares his insights on what it takes to succeed in the ever-evolving world of entertainment.

In particular, Butch and I delve into:
The power of adaptability: How to keep your creative juices flowing and stay relevant in an industry disrupted by AI and rapidly-advancing technology
Why your identity can't be tied to your projects, and how Butch's faith helped him navigate major career transitions
The importance of developing a versatile skill set -- no matter your industry
How to overcome fear, break out of your comfort zone, and view challenges as opportunities for growth
The secret to Butch's repeated success (hint: it's not just about the art, it's about crafting compelling characters and telling great stories!)

Whether you're an aspiring artist, a seasoned professional, or simply looking to "play the long game" in your own field, this episode is packed with wisdom, wit, and practical advice. Tune in and learn how to draw inspiration from Butch Hartman's incredible journey.

Ep. 65: Book I Recommend -- Mother of Learning Arc 1, by Domagoj Kurmaic

Ep. 65: Book I Recommend -- Mother of Learning Arc 1, by Domagoj Kurmaic

I read a lot of books (200+ each year), and I'm often asked for recommendations. Out of the many books I read last year, I didn't just read non-fiction. There were actually 11 fiction books that I gave a 5-star rating. These books are not only thrilling, but give a captivating look into the human experience. In this episode, I spend a couple of minutes explaining why I loved one of these 11 fiction books in particular.

Ep. 63: Why We Make Bad Decisions (with Daniel Steere)

Ep. 63: Why We Make Bad Decisions (with Daniel Steere)

In this episode, I put my old friend on the spot and asked him to talk about his bad decisions--and why we make them. As an executive coach, he has a lot of experience identifying when a decision is likely to be bad and helping people choose better options. For the record, this conversation didn't go where I expected!

Just right

This podcast is interesting and helpful. In my opinion, Scott found the Goldilocks ratio for information. He gets out enough information to get his message out, but it’s not so much that I feel like I’m drinking from a fire hose. He also makes the episodes manageable. They’re not so long that I can’t listen in a single sitting.
