    S2 Ep. 9 | We Need To Talk

    We understand that this phrase, "We Need To Talk", might trigger some people into a thing to run away from, fear, and not want to hear. We as a family, married couple, and even now as believers that are friends with each other, are starting to see that communication has a fear and a stigmatism to run and avoid, or just take "i'm ok" as no news is good news, or there's not a call to do anything instead of asking "how are you doing really?" and leaving opportunity for talking.  Being transparent and leaving that open door policy can let in some good wisdom, and understanding. We hope this helps shapes some things for you guys and you can join us in our journey as well! In this episode we are talking about "asking the right questions" when you DO talk.     We started the New Year with a break from Social Media and brought it in with PICKING our own "WORDS" of pursuit for the year and for the family. It has already been interesting to see what surfaced as we began the new chapter in our lives with newness, and pursuit.  BUT... What if those words we chose, although great encouraging words to help oneself, were actually handicapping you? What if the word you chose does not reflect or are in line with what GOD is working through you?     This Friday November 23, 2019, we will be celebrating our 16th YEAR anniversary. In celebrating we decided to get creative and write the vows we never got to write. Those of you who MAY know, we didn't have a traditional wedding ceremony and in that we just did the traditional vows.     Trusting in any process is an act of FAITH right? Of course, being believers, in a lifestyle of FAITH in CHRIST, we should be able to work in the very manner of being Faithful, full of TRUST. We should be able to have the most Trust in the process...  BUT WHY?  I think a question that we ask ourselves quite often is "why we do what we do?" and once we figure out our "why" then we can have a confidence in our walk through the process...     What can death teach us? Whether we're facing it, in the wake of a passed loved one, if we're constantly tormented with "WHY?", OR if you're wondering, practically, what can we do so DEATH doesn't catch us off guard?  In this episode, we reflect on the things we both learned in the passing of Emily's father, Timothy Hulsey.
