Utar Chadhav

Together, navigating the ups and downs of life! Utar Chadhav(ups and downs) is a mental health podcast. We aim to bring forward nuanced stories of mental health from the trenches in Nepal. We are setting out to rob social taboos of their power by gently turning over the rocks of common, authoritarian, black-and-white judgments to reveal the gray underbelly of lived experiences, so these judgments lose some of their power to cause mental distress.

Listen to “mature”millennials Ujjwala and raji talk about their own journeys of understanding their lineage of how they were guided to engage with substances and what feels affirming and what needs to be discarded. The conversation centers the importance of sensorial journeys connected to culture, class and caste intersections. And most urgently the importance of rituals and slowing down in this increasingly disorienting world.  Listen with your loved ones and we hope it resonates with you to create fun embodied rituals involving your senses that center fun, whimsy and wellbeing.  ***** More about Season 3 Since S1 E9: Cheers, we have been thinking about harm reduction practices in our community. Navigating from within

In this conversation Saf and Sj deep dive into the everyday reality of queer folks and how they have witnessed harm reduction in practice living interdependent lives. As ideas about us, through stereotypes, burden us, the conversation unpacks how to reduce shame, how to challenge binary mindset, and to identify the structural injustices emphasizing everyday acts of collective care even more important and urgent.  **** More about Season 3 Since S1 E9: Cheers, we have been thinking about harm reduction practices in our community. Ep. 8: Inspirationको फण्डा

Has this hot weather, humidity and rainy season got you feeling static? Fret not, you are not alone in this feeling. The unpredictable weather and even more uncertain world scenario has us feeling down too. In these trying times, words of inspiration and little pockets of joy mean so much, don’t they? Luckily, we have just the thing for you! We have recently had the privilege of hosting conversation with  little bursts of inspirations who inspired us with their sometimes deep, sometimes random, and sometimes uniquely wise words.  Talking to Prabodhi and Sadish has helped us make space for young voices to talk about what gives them pleasure, joy, and inspiration to move about and how they experience life. This reflection has also inspired us to listen to not just the youngsters around us but also the inner child within us.  Sit back, tune in and invite the child within you to ponder upon the simpler things of life and watch as the magic unfolds~  #innerchild #favouritethings #utarchadhav #mentalhealthmatters -- This season we are diving into conversations on pleasure and inspiration. We are excited to show you the process of how different conversations become one complete episode.  Join us as we bring to you raw snippets with a lot of ummm-hmmm you would otherwise not hear from our conversations, straight from our new studio space for your auditory pleasure.
