As a result, he was burnt so badly he was then forced to live the rest of his life in pain and suffering.. but what if he was the one to defeat Obi-Wan instead of losing to him?

In The Phantom Menace, we saw the Duel of the Fates and how Maul killed Qui-Gon, but was defeated just moments later by Obi-Wan Kenobi. To keep his promise to Qui-Gon, Obi-Wan took it upon himself to train Anakin in the ways of the force for the next 13 years, until he eventually fell to the dark side. But what if things were different? What if Qui-Gon never died and even more than that, what if he was the one to train Anakin?
