Charming
I enjoy this podcast very much. I don’t mind the lack of polish. I find it charming. The presentation is like listening to a family member recalling the past.
One of my favorite things is when Pete talks about a store, bank, etc where he applied to work, and then didn’t get the job. There seems to be a lot of those. Very amusing. It could be a drinking game! ;)
Commercials
Love the commercials....Starbeat presents what's happening 🎼🎼 Wow, what a flashback
Walk down memory lane
I grew up in Hegewisch in the mid 1960s and my grandma would take us to Gatelys in Roseland and tell us about the street cars and I wish I could have seen that. Talking to my daughters and telling them about the South Shore station when Georgia ran it and the old men standing in wait for 915 feom downtown waiting for the Racing Form and my daughter said I wish I could have seen that. The cycle goes on but I love how this show reminds me of a much simpler time
