Language Matters by Diplomatic Language Services
You don’t need a PhD in linguistics to explore interesting, unique features of different languages. In this podcast, “Language Matters” by Diplomatic Language Services, we make language accessible to everyday people by discussing features which may not exist in other languages. For instance, unless you have studied a Slavic language, you may not be familiar with “verbs of motion”, but we can teach you! Join us each episode as we host experts to discuss how these unique features impact learning a particular language. We will learn together, not only about verbs of motion, but tones, counter words, the oblique form – and all sorts of exciting topics! Music Credit: Zach Bellas Music; Groundscore

Love the bite size and entertaining episodes. Each one has made me curious and a little informed, and mostly interested in learning more. The personal touch of having native speakers providing their unique perspective and in some cases disagreeing with each other is especially delightful. Great sound and music too.
Been waiting for ages for a show like this!

Thanks to DLS for creating a show on interesting properties of global languages. As someone with an interest in languages but little formal linguistics background, I have really enjoyed the three episodes so far.

The speaker have no idea what she’s talking about in episode 13. Turkish and Turkic are two totally different concepts.
