    Navy Veteran Ron Suzuki

    Navy Veteran Ron Suzuki

Navy Veteran Ron Suzuki served in the Navy for 15 years as an Aviation Electronics Technician.  During his time at the Navy, a mate introduced him to photography. He became a full-time photographer shortly after being honorably discharged. His photography business was doing great, but sales eventually slowed down, forcing him to work for a 9 to 5 job. During this time, he further developed his photography and videography skills and founded White Box Media- a company that aims to grow small businesses by providing commercial videography and digital marketing services.

Ron's passion for helping fellow veterans have a successful life post service has led him to the founding of GritCON. The conference emphasizes a celebration of the arts and entertainment communities. It aims to unite, educate and entertain the veteran and non-veteran communities by featuring speakers, innovators, and business personalities from all walks of life.

In this episode Sgt. BeReal talks to Ron Suzuki and takes us through Ron's entrepreneurial journey and his passion for helping the veteran community through digital media and entertainment.

    Marine Veteran Kyle Page

    Marine Veteran Kyle Page

Marine Veteran Kyle Page started as a mechanic in US Marine Corps, deployed in Afghanistan, became a Marksmanship instructor, and was promoted as a corporal. Later in point in his career, he was discharged due to medical reasons. He has worked in several companies after his exit and eventually worked his way to be a successful realtor.

Kyle was a former guest on the show, but this time we will talk about his latest endeavor, an active member of Irreverent Warriors. Irreverent Warriors is a veteran community that brings veterans together to improve mental health and prevent veteran suicide by using humor and camaraderie. Irreverent Warriors provides ideal support networks for veterans from fellow veterans, solidifying the community and camaraderie through therapeutic events like their main Silkies Hike and other events such as camping trips, holiday parties, etc. The connections and bonds made at such events allow veterans to create their own support network solving the most crucial issue contributing to veteran suicide; isolation.

    Army Veteran Lisa Peranzo

    Army Veteran Lisa Peranzo

Army Veteran Lisa Peranzo, Fitness Coach, President, and CEO of A Healthful Life, enlisted in The Army via ROTC. During training, she got a severe injury that put her on the sideline for years. She underwent multiple surgeries and months of physical therapies. The Army allowed her as much time as she needed to rehabilitate and put herself in shape for the physical requirements and re-enlist.  She did recover from her injuries, but unfortunately, she couldn't re-enlist because it will expose her recovered foot to extended physical strain, which wasn't recommended. However, her desire to live healthy, take care of her well-being, and get better physically and mentally has led her to the founding of her company, A Healthful Life, an organization that focuses on a holistic and customized approach to healthy living.

In this episode, Sgt BeReal talks to Army Veteran Lisa Peranzo and how an unfortunate incident while training in the army has helped her inspire and create a fitness company.

    Key points:
In most cases, healthy living isn't a cookie-cutter solution. An effective route to achieve health goals is often tailor-made to the individual.
Every individual is unique and responds to health regimens and fitness uniquely. The approach has to fit that person.
Health and well-being are interconnected with the community.
