    09/13/2021

    Air Force Veteran Amanda Huffman

Air Force Veteran Amanda Huffman was a Civil Engineer in the Air Force. She was an officer and managed all the civil engineer troops during this time. While in the Air Force, she was deployed in Afghanistan and worked with the Army as part of the provincial reconstruction team. After that, she worked in an Air Force headquarters in Ohio, then eventually decided to transition out of the military life to be a stay-at-home mom. As with any veteran, the transition to civilian life is always challenging. To cope with the challenges, she started writing, and from that, it grew to a blog, several books, and a podcast—where she interviews women veterans and women currently serving in the military. Amanda also shares certain aspects of her military experience as an Air Force Officer, military spouse, veteran, and mom.   In this episode Sgt. BeReal’s interviews Amanda Huffman as they talk about her experience in the Air Force and the challenges that women veterans encounter during the transition as a civilian,  a military spouse, and most importantly, as a mom.   Connect with Amanda: LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/airmantomom/ Website: www.airmantomom.com Women of the Military Podcast: www.airmantomom.com/podcast Girl's Guide to the Military: https://www.airmantomom.com/free-resources/a-girls-guide-to-the-military/ Book Women of the Military: https://www.airmantomom.com/women-of-the-military-ebook/   Connect With Sgt. 1st Class (SFC) John Valentine: Website: https://veteransbereal.com/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/veteransbereal/ Apple Podcast: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/veterans-be-real/id1507792755   Magic Mind Productivity Drink: https://magicmind.co/ Please don't forget to subscribe to our podcast and leave us a 5 star written review on iTunes.

    Navy Veteran Danique Masingill

Navy Veteran Danique Masingill served the Navy from 2002 to 2007. In 2007, She found herself with an administrative discharge due to bad leadership, ending her Navy career abruptly. She basically has to fight for her Veteran's Rights. Like most vets, her transition to civilian life wasn’t entirely smooth. She moved from state to state, enrolled in multiple schools, and jumping careers. She eventually got into the veteran service dog space, which led to the founding of Leashes of Valor- a national non-profit that provides service dogs for veterans at no cost. These dogs are custom trained for their specific veteran, meaning they're trained for the veteran's specific symptomology to assist them in mitigating the symptoms of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) or a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI).   In this episode Sgt. BeReal’s interviews Danique Masingill as they talk about her experience in the Navy, her transition, and her journey to the founding of her non-profit organization: Leashes of Valor.   Connect with Danique: Facebook https://www.facebook.com/danique.glenn https://www.facebook.com/LeashesofValor/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/Leashesofvalor Website: https://leashesofvalor.org/   Connect With Sgt. 1st Class (SFC) John Valentine: Website: https://veteransbereal.com/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/veteransbereal/ Apple Podcast: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/veterans-be-real/id1507792755   Please don't forget to subscribe to our podcast and leave us a 5 star written review on iTunes.
