    V&V Episode 135 Lynn Standafer(Enduser) & Hive's Devious Methods

Very excited to have Lynn Standafer a.k.a. Enduser join me today to discuss an album that he considers to be a very influential album to him. And if you know Enduser’s work, that probably comes as no surprise. Now the question is, what do you know about Mike Bell a.k.a. Hive and his 1998 album Devious Methods. Well, probably not much. And I’m sure not for lack of trying. So in more exciting news about this episode, I actually reached out to Mike directly because I couldn’t find much of anything about him or his album, and thankfully he got back to me and agreed to answer some questions from Lynn and me. And I will share that with you here. Follow the link to my website where you can read the whole interview.  https://psychic-static.com/written-interviews/ And if you know and like Devious Methods, I strongly encourage you to listen to Enduser’s new album, Unquiet, available through Decay recordings. Similar in some ways, but unique in that there is also an ambient quality to it. Listen here and decide for yourself. And if you love it, pick up a vinyl copy today. https://end-user.bandcamp.com/album/enduser-unquiet To find out more about us and ways to support the show visit www.psychic-static.com Or as they say, "buy me a coffee" or strong drink by making a small donation of whatever you like here: https://www.paypal.com/ncp/payment/ND4B2AU5YY9FL Psychic Static is also releasing a brand new record from Providence noise rock super group, THERE today(1/30/2026)! 2. V&V Episode 097 Vashti Bunyan & Lambchop's OH(Ohio)

    V&V Episode 097 Vashti Bunyan & Lambchop's OH(Ohio)

I am honored to bring to you today, my conversation with Vashti Bunyan. Who is Vashti, you may ask. Well, she has a book out now, with a paperback release coming this fall, called Wayward: Just Another Life to Live. So, if you'd like to know all the details, I implore you to buy it here: https://a.co/d/9XW5tuI I'm not trying to support Amazon, I just can't find the publisher's direct website. In a nutshell, Vashti became disheartened by the record industry, decided to quit music and follow Donovan(Yes, that Donovan!) out to a newly acquired land of his in Scotland with her partner at the time by a horse drawn wagon from London. The journey took a year and a half. And all of that lead to the writing of what would become her now seminal and sought after debut album, Just Another Diamond Day. On today's show, she summarizes that journey even better, while discussing with me an album that wasn't necessarily an influence on her music writing, but certainly an album she loves. There are some connections that are made, but this is a little bit of a different conversation. If you're not familiar with her music, you really ought to listen to some of it.
