As a Wilmer Eye Institute summer diversity scholar at Johns Hopkins University, she explains her role which involved shadowing a glaucoma specialist, attending journal clubs, and conducting research on glaucoma. Her research project focused on developing a biomarker for glaucoma by studying the strain of the Lamina Cribrosa under different pressure conditions. She also witnessed various eye surgeries, including cataract surgeries and a corneal transplant, during her time at the institute.
