The Future of Jewish Peoplehood with Rabbi Daniel Greyber (podcast)

Rabbi Daniel Greyber Rabbi Daniel Greyber joins Peter Reitzes on the Voice4Israel podcast to discuss Together and Apart: The Future of Jewish Peoplehood, a ten part virtual course which runs from October 22, 2020 through April 15, 2021. How to Talk to Children about the Holocaust

Rabbi Fred Guttman joins Peter Reitzes on the Voice4Israel podcast to discuss how to talk to children about the Holocaust. Rabbi Guttman starts the conversation by sharing that Holocaust education for Jewish children begins with learning about Judaism and being proud of your religion and who you are. Fred Guttman is the rabbi of Temple Emanuel in Greensboro, North Carolina and is highly involved with the International March of the Living which is an annual educational program, bringing individuals from around the world to Poland and Israel to study the history of the Holocaust. Rabbi Guttman has been the chair of the Israel/Foreign Affairs subcommittee of the Commission of Social Action for Reform Judaism and has been instrumental in helping draft several significant Union for Reform Judaism resolutions, including resolutions on torture and human rights. A Major Victory Against Anti-Israel Discrimination with the Lawfare Project

Benjamin Ryberg, Chief Operating Officer and Director of Research at The Lawfare Project, joins Peter Reitzes to discuss its impressive victory against anti-Israel discrimination. Mr. Ryberg served as lead council on the Lawfare Project’s victory and settlement against the National Lawyers Guild (NLG), an organization in the United States that initially refused to sell advertising space in one of their publications to an Israeli organization. In addition to discussing this case in detail, Mr. Ryberg provides important background information on discriminatory efforts to boycott, divest, and sanction (BDS) Israel. Israel’s Quest for Peace with Consul General Anat Sultan-Dadon

Anat Sultan-Dadon, Consul General of Israel to the Southeastern United States, joins Peter Reitzes on the Voice4Israel podcast to discuss Israel’s quest for peace and her important work representing Israel in the United States. On today’s podcast, Consul General Sultan-Dadon is asked about working with allies to have states adopt the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance ‘s definition of antisemitism, the importance of standing up to antisemitism from wherever it arises, a two state solution, Israel’s quest for peace, why there is no peace between Israel and the Palestinians, the White House Peace Plan, media bias towards Israel, visiting Germany with Shimon Peres to attend his historic speech at the German Bundestag, when to speak with children about the Holocaust, and so much more. Consul General Sultan-Dadon joined the Israeli diplomatic corps in 2004. She has extensive experience working for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and has held various posts and positions in Israel and abroad. She has held positions at the Israeli embassies in Cameroon, Germany, the Netherlands and most recently in Canberra, Australia. In the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Jerusalem she has held positions in the Euroasia Division and the Asia-Pacific Division. Using the Law to Protect the Safety of Jewish Students at Duke University

Susan B. Tuchman, Director of the Zionist Organization of America’s Center for Law & Justice, joins Peter Reitzes to discuss using the law to protect the safety of Jewish students at Duke University. On today’s podcast, Ms. Tuchman is asked to review the initial complaint that the Zionist Organization of America (ZOA) filed in 2019 with the U.S. Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights (OCR) against the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Duke University. This initial complaint was related to a one-sided, Israel bashing conference sponsored by UNC and Duke that included an antisemitic performance. Then Ms. Tuchman is asked about a second complaint ZOA filed in March of 2020 with OCR alleging that Duke University violated the Resolution Agreement the university signed and submitted to OCR in December of 2019 related to antisemitism on campus. Ms. Tuchman is asked about the tremendous fear that some Jewish students face on the campus of Duke University because of their love and support for Israel. For example, Duke students reported to ZOA sending emails to university officials stating, “I don’t feel safe on campus,” “I am terrified to walk to class right now,” and “The onslaught continues. I fear for my safety and the safety of Jewish students.” Ms. Tuchman is asked about a Duke student who recently stated on a Voice4Israel Zoom event that one or more students had been advised by the university to “watch their backs” and consider a police escort to class.
