    Conversations with Damilola

    Myself and Dami spoke about depression, and how it plagues people of different classes and background, we are not health care providers so if you are depressed please seek professional help. We spoke about the fear of missing out, some financial nuggets too. We also re-lived our high school days, she shared her fondest memories and I tried to share mine too!

    Conversations with Opeyemi

    On this episode of Voix d'amis, Opeyemi took us on the genesis of his American journey. We spoke about what "Japa" means, and his take on the phenomenon. The just concluded presidential election in Nigeria also made the list of the topics we discussed. Fatherhood, faith and family is important to me, and I know how important that is to Opeyemi too, so I really wanted to hear his perspective on it. He is a Liverpool fan, so yeah we threw in a little football too. Osimhen or Haaland. This was fun to record, I hope you have fun listening to it too!

    This was more of a personal podcast, we got familiar with my friend Lady P. She told us about her experience as a 17 year old international student, about 6000 miles away from family and friends, and how she found a solace in her Church community. Her passion for Medicine, and the state of medical science in Nigeria, and we also touched on what she hopes to achieve with her education. How she came to faith, and how she has been able to sustain her faith even beyond the watching eyes of her parents. I enjoyed talking about her life in general, take a listen -or multiple listens- and let me know what you think.

    I have always wondered about the pressure on Pastor's Kids, Oluwaseyi took us down memory lane telling us how she dealt with being a Pastor's Kid, and how she decided to rediscover her own faith for herself. We spoke about how she navigates the Nigeria-American space, her experience at UT Austin and how she curated her major: Advertising, Consumerism and Globalization and their effect on society. In light of TD Jakes passing the baton to Sarah Jakes, I asked if she was thinking of a day when her dad (Pastor Wale) would pass the baton of his ministry to her, listen to find out.

In the second part we spoke about football, I asked him about one of the premier wide receivers that seems to have just annouced himself this season in Cooper Kupp, and how he compares to other notable WRs, he also broke down his picks for the NFL playoffs having Green Bay Packers and Kansas Chiefs squaring it out at SoFi stadium for the championship with Aaron Rodgers and co. winning.
