Vulnerability Junkies

Kevin and Jamie

It’s no secret that guys suck at talking about their feelings and everyone wishes they were better at it, us included. On Vulnerability Junkies, two friends (Kevin Lau & Jamie Wong) struggle through the scary parts of personal and career growth as 20/30 somethings, their cultural identities as Asian Canadians, and becoming less emotionally constipated. After taking an emotional intelligence course while between silicon valley tech jobs, we started this podcast to practice, fail, and learn in public. So here it is in all its messy glory. Sit back, relax, and enjoy your hit of vulnerability.

Ep 27: Crafting experiences to turn strangers into friends (w/ Adele Bloch!)

Adele loves organizing events that are designed to encourage strangers to be vulnerable and connect more deeply with each other. Naturally, we are big fans of Adele’s work! In this episode, we unpack the intentionality behind her experience design, the logistics required to run events for dozens of strangers, and things she’s learned from failures over the years. ------------------------------------------------ Hosts: Kevin Lau, Jamie Wong Guest: Adele Bloch Intro music by: Harry Dai ------------------------------------------------ CONNECT WITH US Subscribe and follow us @vulnerabilityjunkies on Apple Podcasts / Spotify / Instagram or @softboiacademia on Twitter Listener Survey: Share your thoughts on the podcast with us here (thank you for sharing!) Ep 25: Being a mom doesn’t need to be all-consuming (w/ Ruth Grace Wong!)

Ruth is one of our most prolific side project friends, and also one of our most prolific parent friends. Sometimes those two identities intersect, like when Ruth builds kids play areas in community spaces to make San Francisco a more kid friendly city. In this episode, we talk about joyful parenting, and how a brief stint in hospice care shifted her towards an anti-perfectionist mindset. ------------------------------------------------ Hosts: Kevin Lau, Jamie Wong Guest: Ruth Grace Wong Intro music by: Harry Dai ------------------------------------------------ CONNECT WITH US Subscribe and follow us @vulnerabilityjunkies on Apple Podcasts / Spotify / Instagram or @softboiacademia on Twitter Listener Survey: Share your thoughts on the podcast with us here (thank you for sharing!)
