The Kid-Free Week That Wasn't

This week on Waking Up with Flem, Ryan and Marlee survived a rare kid-free week—and it may not have gone exactly as planned. With Maizee and Declan away at church camp, we thought we'd have plenty of time for date nights, pickleball, and crossing things off the to-do list. Instead, we enjoyed a couple of great dinners together, somehow never made it to the pickleball court, and soaked in the unusual quiet around the house. But it wasn't completely quiet—because the newest Fleming family member was settling into his new home. Yurtle the Turtle is now officially a Fleming after Ryan spent part of the week building him a custom backyard habitat. Yurtle has traded camp life for the good life and is already making himself right at home. Declan returned from camp on Friday with plenty of stories and memories. His favorite part of the entire week? The food. Forget the activities, games, and adventures—the camp menu earned top billing. We hear all about his experience and why he can't wait to go back. Meanwhile, Marlee took full advantage of the peaceful week by relaxing in her brand-new dipping pool before Maizee returned home from camp on Saturday. Between the pool, the date nights, and the temporary calm, it was a nice reset before the whole family was back under one roof. Schools Out For Summer!!!!!

On this Episode.... Marlee and Ryan talk about all the awards Maizee and Declan received at their awards days. Declan is officially done with Level Grove and will be at Tallulah Falls in the Fall. We had Maizee's Rapids soccer end of year celebration where more Italy details were discussed. Declan had tryouts for a Travel Baseball team. Asks me everyday if I have gotten a text message or call. Kids being BORED is very difficult....They will definitely figure out doing things on their own. Declan tried cooking EGGs by himself on Sunday morning. Youtube for the win...but Dad had to finish them due to Declan had to go POOP. New set of Pokemon released on Friday and Marlee pulled a Gold Card $$$$. Tournament weekend and Tammy's Birthday!!!

On this Episode.... The Flem's had a busy weekend with Soccer Tournament and Tamasha. Rough Saturday for the girls soccer team, took the L in both matches and we had Date night with Colby and Amanda at Tamasha. Woke up early Sunday to head to the soccer fields to play a final game that the girls Won. Had lunch with some Soccer Families and came home to Relax but Marlee's Relax button was BROKEN. Happy Mother's Day!!!

On this episode..... Ryan and Marlee talk about their first week of their high protein/low calorie meal planning and back to working out after taking 4 weeks off.... oooh wee legs were on fire! Declan finished off his baseball season with both wins and Ryan ran into an old family member. Weekend was busy with lots of shopping and new interest in an espresso machine.... que to MAD face, the one we ended up purchasing was a used return and wrong product (YUCK). Mother's Day was good but hard lesson for the kiddos but hope everyone else had a great day! Thank you to all the mom's out there that are rocking it! New Health Journey Incoming!!!

On this Episode.... Marlee and Ryan discussed their busy week of sports and Nail Biting Soccer Games and 2nd place in Championship game. Marlee did not like the Picture that was posted of the team(Her Especially). Ryan decided to create a Meal Prep/Workout plan that should help and be better than what we were doing! Just have to stick to it. Ryan also tried Coke Zero and Sprite Zero. We shall see how that goes. The Kids and Youth had a great WJOY Radio Dinner and a Show. Everyone loved it. Declan was the Audio Technician and Maizee was a Trash Stomp Specialist. Also, Birthday Celebrations this Week...... Mimi is Today 5/4 and Lauren is 5/7. Happy Birthday Ladies. C & E Acres!!!!

On this Episode.... Marlee and Ryan recap the previous weeks activities that included Declan's Baseball and Maizee's Soccer. Another busy week of sports is upon us. Saturday was the Grand Opening of the C & E Acres Market!!! It was full of Sourdough Breads, Cheddar Biscuits, Dinner Rolls and the Main Item Cinnamon Rolls!!!! If you ain't 1st you're LAST (Ray). They also have Chicken Meat, Pork Meat and Lamb Meat. We were the 1st Customers to show up to the Opening Day. Got the Full Tour of the Market led by Jessa, since the owner was still getting ready. The rest of the day after the Market was spent in Buford shopping. Declan had to check out the new Baseball Lifestyle Store and he made out like a bandit. Maizee has been wanting some Salish Matter beauty products and she finally scored some. Mom had a successful trip at Old Navy and I had to turn around to get the ONLY thing we went shopping for.
