    Prayer to choose love more fully

    Transcript: Come, Holy Spirit. I want to choose love more fully in my life. And I know that I cannot without your help. Jesus said, "Apart from me, you can do nothing." So Jesus, I ask, your help. I ask your help, letting go of the barriers to love. Help me to more fully choose love today. Help me let go of my fear. I fear of sadness. Help me let go of pride. So I can choose love. Help me, to acknowledge and accept the deep thirsts and emptiness of emptinesses of my life, so that I can choose love. Help me to let go of my small minded understanding of justice. so that I can choose choose love.. Help me to let go of any evil thing that still has a place in my heart, that still has some affection.. So I can choose love. Help me to let go of my fear of pain and suffering. whether physical or social or emotional.. So that I can choose love. Help me to let go of. anger and contempt. So I can choose love. Help me to let go of obsessive desires. and the desire to manipulate other people. So I can choose love. Help me to let go of trying to impress other people.. So I can choose love. Help me to let go of money and power and control and comfort. so that I can choose love. Help me to let go of being judgmental.. So that I can choose love. Help me to not to focus on other people as the problem. Give me courage to. listen to you and to reflect on my own faults. So that I could choose love. Help me to let go of passivity and despair so I can ask and seek and knock and choose love. Help me to let go of my own will. and seek to do your will. Which I know is the path of love. Help me to not be wise in my own eyes but help me to build my life. On your wisdom, Jesus, and on your guidance. so that I might walk more fully in the way of love. Amen.

    Prayer for deliverance from pride

    Transcript: Come, Holy Spirit. I ask. that out of your great goodness, you would make known to me and take out of my heart every kind and form and degree of pride, whether it be from evil spirits or my own corrupt nature Awaken in me, the deepest depth, and truth of that humility which can make me capable of your light and Holy Spirit Amen

    Prayer for docility

    Come, Holy Spirit, we ask that you would give us docile spirits. interested and ready to hear every word from you, desiring to be led by you patiently and gently, seeking to do your will and wanting to be sensitive in attentive to your leading. We ask you for this docility. Help us to let go of willfulness, help us to be open to the idea that we might be wrong, help us to be open to the idea that we have faults that we do not yet understand. Help us to remember that we are frail. Lord, we seek that humility. We seek that, docility from you. Amen.

    Transcript: Come, Holy Spirit. I ask that you would renew my mind. open my eyes, bring me to a deeper awareness of the opportunities for love today. As I go throughout my day, help my mind and my heart, to return to this thought as a bird returns to its nest. I want to walk in love today. I wanted to grow in love today. Help me to see in the circumstances I find myself in for the day. Where the opportunities are for love. Help me to trust that you are rich in providing the opportunities. that you are generous in providing help. to all who want to grow in love. I pray for a a deepening in a focusing of my attention and my intentions to walk in love today. Help me, Holy Spirit. Help me to do your will. Amen.

    Prayer for childlike wisdom

    Transcript: Jesus, you say that your Father has hidden... the things that are most true and most beautiful about this world. From the wise and the learned. But he has revealed them to little children. I ask for grace. to become like a little child. Help me to be.. open to whatever you are wanting to show me. Help me to be open to that truth and that beauty and that wisdom that is beyond human pursuit. It is beyond human wisdom. It's beyond what one human can teach another. You say that you are the one who chooses to reveal the Father. And you can do it for anyone you choose. I ask that you would choose me. Help me to be receptive today. Help me to let go of any ideas or frameworks that you want me to let go of. Help me to become childlike in the way that you praise. Amen.

    Prayer for grace to face my own faults

    Inspired by Jesus’ words in the sermon on the mount “First take the log out of your own eye” Transcript: Come Holy Spirit, Help me to engage with honesty and courage. with my own faults and failures. I Think of what you said in the Sermon on the Mount. How can you say to your brother or sister? "Let me take this back out of your eye. and you have a log in your own. First, take the log out of your own eye. Then you will see clearly. to remove this speck.” I ask that you would help me to focus my energies. Not on what other people are doing wrong. help me to bring my own faults before you. I ask that you would give me the Grace, to be honest about them. Courage to bring them to you. Help me to not avoid them. Help me to say “I really do want this log out of my eye.” and seek your help. I pray also that you would renew and purify my. desires regarding other people that. I really would. want to help them, get the speck out of their eye, That I would see that facing my own failures. is the path. to truly serving them in love, and truly helping them. I pray that you would kindle in me that desire: not to compare, or compete, or condemn, but Lord, truly to bless other people, benefit them somehow, help them on their journey. Amen.

    Prayer for creative imagination for one step of obedience

    Transcript: Come, Holy Spirit.. I ask you for the. Creative imagination. to take these big theological ideas, these beautiful ideas… Every person being made in the image of God. of Jesus, in some mysterious way, being in. Every person we meet, especially those who are poor and weak…the unity of the Global Church, one church. I ask for the creative imagination and your guidance. to say, what is the concrete step that you want me to take next. What does the path look like? From the way that my life is currently arranged, the way that my thoughts and habits are currently arranged. Toward that beautiful reality. Help me to hear your voice. Give me grace and courage to take one step. Amen.
